Great convertible 2-in-1 laptop/tablet!
Amazing laptop! Fast, sleek, light. The screen is bright and the colors really pop. The touchscreen is very responsive and in tablet mode I can type using the onscreen keyboard without any issue. It feels like a giant smartphone. The physical keyboard is great too. The keys have a nice feel to them - they bounce back almost like a mechanical keyboard and make typing a lot faster. The whole laptop just has a very high quality feel to it. I'm actually afraid to take it out of my house because it looks like some high-end CEO high roller device that super rich people would have.I watched some movies on it through Netflix and Youtube and they look fantastic. Internet connection was no issue.I ran World of Warcraft on it with different settings and also got great results. At 4K resolution I can get 45 to 65 FPS with only AA and shadows disabled, and everything else turned to Max/Ultra. I was also able to lock the FPS at 55 FPS with V-sync enabled. I find that you don't need Anti-Aliasing enabled on a 15" screen at 4K because the pixels are so small you won't see any jaggedness with the naked eye anyway. Not to mention AMOLED screens have a nice smoothness to them on their own.I suggest switching to Performance Mode on both the HP Control Center and on the Windows battery performance slider when gaming, to get Max power from the Intel CPU and the GTX GPU. There's a third battery performance slider too in the GeForce Experience controls, so if you want max power, you'll need to toggle all of them to get max performance or just let your laptop handle it all automatically.Definitely keep it on a flat surface while gaming or doing video processing. It will get hot on the bottom if you block up the vent strip. Otherwise, it just gets warm while doing the heavy duty stuff and is not an issue.Flipping it around to tablet mode you get a nice versatile tablet you can sit on your lap and either scroll through your favorite sites or use the included stylus to draw stuff in the sketch book apps. The stylus pen comes with a battery and 3 extra replaceable tips. There's no storage slot for the pen on the laptop, but the laptop comes with a protective padded sleeve that has a slot you can slide the pen in. The sleeve will fit your laptop and the pen only - you'll have to bring the power cord with you seperately if you travel and need to charge your laptop at some point. The fans blow hot air off to the left and right, not out the back, so be sure not to cover them up or you'll notice the laptop getting hot. The laptop has a metal case, which helps keep the motherboard cooler, but you'll feel the warmth with your hands if you don't give it enough airflow. It's got USB-C, including a Thunderbolt 3 port, so down the road you can plug in accessories like external GPU housings or whatnot. It even has a webcam killswitch if you're paranoid too. There's a little fingertip touch scanner that will instantly unlock your laptop without any passwords or pins, if you wish to use it, as well as a face scanner. I find the fingerprint scanner is most practical.Battery life for non-gaming was great. After about 5 hours of just installing HP and Windows updates, as well as basic browsing and whatnot, it was only down to 85% in balanced mode. Haven't seen it while gaming without the wire plugged in yet, but I imagine it'll drop faster in full performance mode.Overall, I love this thing. It's pricey, but it's worth it and you won't need a new laptop or tablet for a long time.

Fast, beautiful and lightweight
First off, this is a very good laptop in every respect. The fit and finish are stunning, with a copper colored finish on all "metallic" edges. Although very thin, it has a substantial feel with no cheap wobble in the display. Between the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD it is snappy for most operations and boots up in seconds. I did not care about the fingerprint reader when purchasing, but it has turned out to be very handy. The keyboard area touch pad works well and has very cool left/right buttons below the surface. I got the 15" version which I put side by side with my friend's 13" spectre, and this one is much easier to read and work with. There are a few minor downsides, although I have to say that these do not change my overall view.1. No hard Ethernet port. OK usually I would use the WiFi anyway, but in my work having a hard ethernet is sometimes needed.2. Only one USB A port. Yes OK there is a small USB-C port, but most devices use USB-A. I ended up buying one of those USB-C hubs that plugs right in to the USB-C connector and provides several USB-A and a hard Ethernet. Strongly urge you to just get this as it comes in very handy.3. Stylus is a loose accessory. The HP stylus is fine, but is just loose with no home on the device. The included faux leather slip case is so tight as to be useless. It is very difficult to put the laptop into and doesn't provide really any protection except against scratches. I ended up just using a backpack case and then have room for the stylus and USB hub too.4. Built-in speakers aren't very good. Surprised Bang&Olufsen put their name on this. Take the time to hunt for the control panel for these which has various spatial settings to greatly improve the sound. I had trouble getting them to be loud enough and still sound OK.5. Tablet mode - sort-of. This is less specific to this unit and more applicable to fold-over laptops in general, but I find that opening and folding the unit into a tablet is pretty awkward. The other thing is the transition from laptop to tablet mode, it is very easy to touch things on the display accidentally. I found that when in tablet mode a number of times I wanted to tilt it a bit to see better, and it's hard to know when it "detects" that the case is now open too far so it should switch modes. Supposedly the keyboard is disabled while in tablet mode, but I swear that it actuated sometimes if I bumped the tablet. So if you want to really use it like a tablet, put it on a tilted and cushioned surface, like a book with a hand towel on it to lean against.6. Power brick. Why oh why do they put 3 prong grounded cords on these? In nearly every setting where I use the laptop (meetings, conferences etc.) desk space is always a premium and often there are few grounded outlets available. All of my Sony laptops have 2 prong plugs. This allows me to carry a lightweight extension cord.

6 weeks of ownership and all pros for me
I've had mine about 6 wks and pleased with the overall performance. The oled screen is perfect for my photo editing. I even play rpg games online with it. I also hook up to my 27" 4k hdr monitor and wireless keyboard when I'm at home to use it as my tower. It comes with a nice cover to use when I take it with me. I'm satisfied.
