Like most people who read reviews of the product, you may search for information to help you make the best decision about this product.Karcher has historically been a prestige brand with quality products, but I have noticed a tendency to make more commercial products and quality levels do not equal the past. Specifically k5.540 Karcher is a good product and has met my expectations, its 2000 psi are sufficient for any domestic work and overall performance is quite acceptable.ADVANTAGES:• Good engine power with 2000 psi.• The adjustable pressure nozzle according to the use required.• The extension cord and supply hose is excellent.• Your water cooling engine, allow continuous use much higher than other brands.DISADVANTAGES:• The hose reel to wind pressure is not very functional and should be done slowly.• The stability of the pressure washer is not much, so it is likely to lean forward.• Your weight is not ideal for working in high places.Generally I find a very good product and cost-benefit seems very favorable, because as always there are better models and products, but also its price is substantially higher. It made for what you pay, what you get makes up very well.If I had to choose between models k5.540 and 5,740 k, I think the first has all of the second and also a better price.Finally I used with accessories T250 and an extension of 4 pieces and it worked perfectly.I hope this will be useful.----------------------------------Como la mayoría de las personas que lee las opiniones del producto, usted posiblemente busca información que le permita tomar la mejor decisión acerca de éste producto.Karcher históricamente ha sido una marca de prestigio con productos de calidad, pero he notado cierta tendencia a hacer productos más comerciales y con niveles de calidad no iguales al pasado.Específicamente la Karcher k5.540 es un buen producto y ha cumplido con mis expectativas, sus 2000 psi son suficientes para cualquier trabajo doméstico y en general su rendimiento es bastante aceptable.VENTAJAS:•Buena potencia con su motor de 2000 psi.•Boquilla de presión regulable según el uso que se requiere.•La extensión de cable de corriente y de la manguera de alimentación es excelente.•Su motor de enfriamiento por agua, permito un uso continuo mucho mayor que otras marcas.DESVENTAJAS:•El carrete para enrollar la manguera de presión no es muy funcional y debe hacerse despacio.•La estabilidad de la hidrolavadora no es mucha, por lo que es probable que se incline hacia adelante.•Su peso no es ideal para trabajar en superficies altas.En general me parece un muy buen producto y la relación costo-beneficio me parece muy favorable, pues como siempre hay mejores modelos y productos, pero igualmente su precio es sustancialmente más alto. Hacía que por lo que se paga, lo que se obtiene lo compensa muy bien.Si tuviera que elegir entre los modelos k5.540 y la k 5.740, creo que la primera tiene todo lo de la segunda y además un mejor precio.Finalmente la utilizado con los accesorios T250 y una extensión de 4 piezas y ha funcionado perfectamente.Espero que esto sea de su utilidad.

GREAT IN SO MANY WAYS -- HORRID IN ONE VERY IMPORTANT ONE -- PLEASE READ ON!I purchased this Karcher Pressure washer because of its quiet nature and yet superior pressure capacity, it seemed like the perfect machine.I went to the internet to verify if indeed it was as good as it says, finally visiting their website. Now I did not read the warnings (etc) but I was more interested in seeing how durable or if there were any really negative reviews about it. When you look on their website you see the machine being used on Mount Rushmore because of its ability to use less water and is far less harsh than other pressure washers on that :Monumental Stone".I mentioned this to inform you that it appears that the power source is not near but more than likely far away. I have plenty of power tools and grew up using them, often with some power cord. To clarify you cannot use an additional power cord "really" to help you get the machine in a position that you may need it to be. If you do use a power cord it will cause a strain on the electric motor due to the lessened amperage by extending the distance between the machine and the outlet for power. If you need an extension cord to get the power over a short period of time it will ruin the motor.PLEASE DO NOT "BUY" THIS MACHINE, UNLESS YOUR POWER SOURCE IS WITHIN THE REACH OF THE CORD BUILT INTO THE MACHINE ITSELF INCLUDING THE DISTANCE with the water supply hose from the machine and the sprayer to where you will be applying it or using it. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IF THIS IS THE CASE. The manufacturer must find a solution to this issue. The picture displayed on the website gave me the impression that of course if an extension cord is needed then by all means, use and extension cord. They do mention this quite boldly in the users manual (if you do so choose to read it front to back! Unfortunately, in real life, you will need an extension cord in order to use it completely. AGAIN IT IS MY ISSUE for not seeing it in the warnings prior to me First turning on the machine.This truly is a great machine, but I have ruined this machine 2X and that's a lot of money really. I did love it when it worked. In my eagerness and perceptive mind assuming there would not be an issue in using an additional cord power/extension cord. Even a heavy gauged cord, one in which I had for my other power tools was used, will not work.Note: The smaller the gauge of the power cord the less ability it has to transfer power from the source to object being powered. All a lessoned learned.

Product worked great the first year, then the power spray wand begun to leak in the center until it cracked, was never dropped. The starter capacitor tends to disconnect due to motor vibration, when this happens it fails to start, then it has to be taken apart to get electrical connections re-adjusted. The latest issue is that now it seems to have a pressure leak as the motor starts and stops at idle.Not a very reliable machine.
