Garmin Edge 810 GPS Bike Computer (Certified Refurbished)

My 10 year old told me that I don't NEED one of those, and he is probably right. But the Garmin 810 is very helpful telling you how you are improving during your training. A two hour ride takes only seconds to upload to connect.garmin.com where all the info about your ride is easy to see. This unit has the ghost rider, we which let's you set a desired speed when you enter a course. The virtual rider is shown on your screen, and you can compete, to try to beat this rider. I have also entered longer courses on side roads, and find the director finding very useful for unfamiliar roads. This unit helps motivate me to get out on the bike, and see if I can outperform my last training ride. The unit doesnt really have a usable base map. You don't necessarily need one, as you can upload your route before your ride. But I went ahead and bought the usa map online and loaded it into the garmin after buying a micro SD card.Update after 5 months use: 82 rides and 2300 miles laterI have forgotten my water bottle, my patch kit, and my helmet once or twice, but never my Garmin 810. I use this unit with a heart rate monitor and a Cadence and speed sensor. The only issue I have had is a few times it didn't want to sync via Bluetooth, though it may have been my phone's fault. Backup sync is with the USB cord, and that never fails.I don't often use the map function, but I have gotten lost twice, and it was very nice to be able to enter my hometown as a destination, and be turn guided all the way back. I sometimes use the route function of entering the ride, to be turn guided by the GPS on routes I am unfamiliar with.

I really enjoy it accuracy on the bike. Garmin express works well. I don't monitor my heart or anything extra. It works well as a bike computer

What a great device, have been able to connect with my PowerTap and the information gathered is out standing. The only complaint I would have is the display that can be a little hard to see without an anti-glare screen protector.

Terrible. I buy this product but sucks. It turns off or screed desapegara in the middle of the ride. I thought might be the battery but can’t figure it out yet.The battery dies inmediatelly. I think it’s because it is refurbished.Don’t buy refurbished.
