Gaming Mouse provides the speedy mouse movement competitive gamers require. Adjustable lift-off height enables the 8200 DPI sensor to be set to a level which sidesteps z-axis tracking issues. Precision Aim mode permits on-the-fly cursor sensitivity adjustment to steady your aim. And, a simple yet powerful drag-and-drop software interface can equip each of the nine programmable buttons with custom macros. Designed by and for hardcore PC gamers, the Tournament Edition R.A.T. Gaming Mouse is a fierce weapon that puts a full arsenal of cutting-edge features at your fingertips. Elevated Precision Making a first-ever appearance in a gaming mouse, an 8200 DPI Laser Doppler sensor automatically detects the gaming surface it's on and then makes game-critical adjustments. Optimized for virtually any surface – even black gaming surfaces – you can stay in control of your cursor in any gaming situation. High-speed motion detection reaches 6m/s and acceleration maxes out at 50G. Practically immune to ambient light and dust, enhanced sensor tracking translates into more precise movement and increased in-game kill rates. Cleared for Lift-off Lift-off height is a measure of distance between a mouse and gaming surface. Lifting and repositioning a mouse while gaming can interfere with tracking on the z-axis. The height at which a mouse still tracks after removal from the gaming surface is a matter of personal preference. Enter the Tournament Edition R.A.T. , capable of lift-off calibration previously unseen in a gaming mouse. Precise sensor calibration offers the freedom to tweak the lift-off height to suit your individual style of gameplay. Optimized for both lift-off speed and detection when landing, you can adjust lift-off distance from 0.2mm to 1mm. View larger Simplified Target Tracking Precision Aim mode grants on-the-fly cursor sensitivity adjustment. After an uncomplicated setup process within the downloadable programming software, one press of the oversize, easy to actuate Precision Aim button steadies your aim. Another powerful component bolstering your weaponry, Precision Aim mode helps you hit your target the first time, every time. View larger 27 Custom Paths to Victory An intuitive drag-and-drop software interface delivers total control over each of the programmable buttons and allows the creation of an unlimited number of profiles. Each profile accommodates 27 user-definable commands via nine programmable buttons over three modes. Easily establish a profile for different games and character builds such as sniper, tank, and healer. Within each profile, you can define DPI settings, map media functions, designate Precision Aim sensitivity, assign simple or complex macro timing, and set key bindings. Whether your game of choice is FPS, RPG, or any other genre, you have the power to customize your enemies' demise. View larger Personalize Your Dots per Inch Four user-definable DPI settings range from 100 to 8200. A convenient DPI button cycles through custom settings, granting easy access to sensitivity adjustments. And that's if you game six hours a day, six days a week, all year long. Don't play that much? Expect this R.A.T. to last considerably longer. 5/5 Worth Every Cent
Before buying this mouse I had a Razer TRON special edition, which lasted me well over three years, but unfortunately its day came to pass on. I wasn't interested in spending hundreds of dollars on a new mouse, so I looked for a cheaper alternative. Need less to say the R.A.T has held up to my expectations. The high DPI allows me to resume my play style with the same overly sensitive settings, and you can even program it in 25 dpi increments, unlike Razer. The programmables are super easy to reassign using the downloadable software and the quick-aim button is positioned very well for those reflexive 360 no-scope moments. The mouse has an adjustable palm rest to maximize comfort for any grip style. The mouse is very LIGHT, which was shocking at first; however, after using the mouse for a while I now favor the lighter build. The sensors are very accurate and the software has options for acceleration and depth fine tuning. Overall I have only one thing to say: if I had the money to blow, yes, I would still get another Razer; but for the price of this mouse it meets and exceeds every expectation of mine. 5/5 Worth every cent.

Great (but tiny) mouse
I've played competitive console games (smash) for a while and recently started getting back into the competitive computer scene (DotA2, StarCraft2, csgo). I've used other gaming mice before and was always scared away because I would accidentally click random buttons and it made me never want one. This mouse is my first gaming mouse and to tell the truth has made me regret never having one to begin with. It has made games like dota a breeze to quickly hotkey items to the side buttons. The buttons are positioned in such a way as to never accidentally click them, which is impressive as they are in positions right by my fingers. The only gripe being double clicking on the side buttons seems to slightly move the mouse more than it should due to its lack of weight. The side thumb rest thingy is a real nice bonus, never had one before. Basically it glides with the mouse rather than against your mousepad making it real easy to tap those side button consistently. I grip the mouse in a claw fashion (fingertips) rather than a resting palm so the small size isn't that big of a deal for my medium sized hands. I've played for a solid 4 hours without any discomfort, it kind of fits like a glove for me. For the cost I'd recommend this. The only part that seemed flimsy was the expandable length extension. Even at the largest setting it didn't allow me to rest my hand so rather than have it awkwardly extend, I shortened it to the smallest setting and then the mouse seemed pretty sturdy. It comes with a dpi switch which I currently never find a good time to switch midmatch. I can see the point of it but I guess I'm just not used to it enough to switch in the middle of a game. It is located right below the mouse wheel so if this is something you see yourself needing, it is in a convenient spot. You can also easily set up a profile to make different game dpi settings easier. You can only have one profile but the profile can have 3 modes.Overall great mouse! It is small in size and weight but for my first gaming mouse I am satisfied. If you are willing to spend more (about 40% more) then I'd recommend a RAT 7 as that has an adjustable weight. To me it wasn't worth it, I am happy with this one.

Neat mouse with consistent intermittent tracking issues
This was my first purchase of a "gaming branded" mouse, as it replaced a standard two button + scroll wheel optical mouse for my desktop. The mouse allows for customization of the palm rest and thumb hold, and is very light. I agree with the product description that it effortlessly glides across the mouse pad.Unfortunately, I started to see tracking issues after the first month of usage, which I just thought might have been due to the design contrast on my mouse pad. I replaced the mouse pad with a black steelseries version and the tracking issues became less prevalent. The issues would manifest as the Y axis not responding, while still being able to move and track on the X axis. Typically these unresponsive times would last between 10-20 seconds, during which you might be staring at the ceiling or floor in your FPS game. Honestly, while the issue was frustrating, I liked the mouse so I just accepted it and tried to play around it.After six months, the mouse just stopped powering up regardless of the usb port you used. It indicated that Windows had detected an error with the device and suggested to unplug and re-plug in the device. This happened on several different PCs & Laptops, so it seemed as though my mouse was defective.I contacted customer support and then accepted a return of the broken mouse (I paid for shipping to them) and then they shipped me another one (I did not pay to ship the replacement.) The customer support experience was good and they were extremely friendly. It took about 2 to 2.5 weeks to go from non-working mouse to replacement as they waited until they received my mouse before they shipped a new one. I would have rather had them place a charge on a credit card and cross-ship me one, so I had less down time.Unfortunately, it has been about a month and I've started to experience intermittent tracking issues again. I'm not going to try and replace the mouse again and am instead going to go with another mouse to try and get a better experience.Overall, it was a good mouse when it was working properly, but the tag line of "tenaciously durable" must only pertain to the switches supporting the left and right mouse buttons, because the sensor for movement tracking is pretty terrible. For the price, there are several other options to choose from that have to provide a better experience, as replacing a mouse like this every six months (whether through RMA or just buying a new one) is unacceptable.

good generic gaming mouse
ive used it now for mostly web use and mmo gaming for two months (i use my left hand on the keyboard for most mmo commands). Its great as a basic gaming/web/cad mouse. I sometimes use a couple of the extra buttons (it really only has 6 that are easily pressed - the other 2 are settings buttons 1 of which can be repurposed into 2 buttons via the settings application) but for the most part i just use the center 3 buttons. Its a very light well made mouse. Since it has exposed parts/cabling in places I would take care not to get it wet however. Im happy with how comfortable it is. I havent had any issues with tracking once i adjusted the x and y settings to my liking for the 3 screen setup i use.

blown away
I am over the moon! This is the first wheel I have ever bought, however not the first one I have used. I love cars and driving but I have never truly got into a racing simulator on a games consol, why? Well that's the question I asked myself when admiring the next gen forza game for the xbox one. The answer.......control pad! Truly not the way to simulate a driving game. So I took one hell of a plunge and spent over £400 on this wheel and a stand to hook it onto....... and here's what I found.I put a lot of research into a product before parting with my hard earned cash but on this occasion finding customer reviews was hard, I don't think this wheel is fully available yet. Prior to this I had looked at the thrustmaster xbox one wheel but was put off by reading the wheel itself felt cheap and plastic, I wanted it to feel real in my hands. Madcatz had simular features to the thrustmaster but the wheel and Pedals looked far superior. So I went for it!Unboxing.......huge box this kit comes in! Lots of bits, bags of screws, card board! But once you find the instructions you notice that you don't need the majority of the bits, it's a relief, extra parts are to be used depending on your set up. I was hooking onto a stand I purchased so used the simple clamps and the rest of the kit went away in the cupboard. Set up took me about 20 mins.First run........ I'm booting up forza, sat behind the wheel, smiling. Pedals feel great, wheel in my hand is feeling awesome, very good quality and build all in all. Game loaded up I take to the track in a Dodge Challenger (holiday rental car) 3, 2, 1.......foot down, car doesn't move. Wheel moves on screen with the unit, gears change with the paddles but the accelerater isn't working. Checked wire, quit out and back in, still won't work........ switched xbox off whilst I searched for help online, found none. Switched back on for a second try and BOOM, it's working. Yes! No idea what the prob was. Anyway it instantly becomes apparent that using a wheel brings a huge amount of realism to the sim, I was all over the place. So I jumped in a clio to try it out on a car a bit slower and easier to drive. It was great, loved it.Overall....... This is exactly what I wanted. I love the racing game with this wheel. It makes the sim so realistic. The mechanics of the wheel are amazing, I read somewhere we have two force feedback motors inside the unit, this brings so much realism to the cars. You can really feel the difference in you hands between a Ferrari, Dodge, clio, range rover...... It's amazing, so impressive. You can feel the road, the bumps, the slips, everything! This bit of kit is awesome. Now I'm not new to this tech, my old housemate was a huge f1 fan and he had a force feedback wheel for the xbox 360 but it wasn't a patch on this, this wheel is next gen, designed for Xbox, with forza in mind with the ability to upgrade in the future. The wheel easily detaches from the unit so Madcatz can release future wheels, f1 etc.Lastly I'd like to mention a buddy of mine. He came round on Saturday and I mentioned the wheel. He didn't seem impressed as he doesn't like car games......... He tried it out, and spent the weekend playing forza! Loved it. So if you like cars and the idea of racing but have found it hard to get into consol racing games with a pad, buy this wheel, you will love it.To summarise, this has far exceeded my expectations. The force feedback is incredible, couldn't of imagined how realistic this could feel. Build quality is great and the kit looks brilliant. Pedals are big so bare in mind when you buy a stand. 5* easily wish I could give more.

Great, So many buttons
Good Points.-The software is great no cd just download from their website.-loads of buttons with the modes. each mode has a different colour with a different led.-the dpi can be put up or down with a small button with 4 leds indicating the level-feels great in the hand can adjust the back of the mouse-cool style that doesn't interfere with the ergonomics of the mouse-software has presets for loads of games like battlefield and online mmo's and you can download more from there websiteBad-mode button slightly difficult to press but that doesn't bother to much as it doesn't need to be clicked that often-for the price of the mouse the finishes in some places are pretty poor. for example on the large left and right mouse buttons there are mould ends which haven't really been smoothed down.-bottom pads like so many mice pick up a lot of stuff off the desk in no time at all would of liked to see something else used that isn't so sticky and picks up dust-they say 9 programmable buttons but it is really only 7 as 2 off them are scroll up and scroll down which aren't really buttonsapart from the small bits it is a great mouse and easy to use and offers great shortcuts with all its extra buttons. the overbuild quality is quite good apart from small areas but feels solid considering its very light weight.
