Clarifying information from another review
There is no discrepancy in Job 29.6 as Pearl Li review dated (Jan 28th 2025) had previously pointed out. Its not an error or a misprint. Its a difference between earlier and later translations. The NLT has gone through a couple of updates (1996,2004 and 2015). Publishers sometimes update verses to reflect clearer wording or improved scholarship. In some older printings of the NLT, Job 29:6 reads: “My steps were awash in cream, and the rocks gushed olive oil for me.” In other NLT editions it reads: “My cows produced milk in abundance, and my groves poured out streams of olive oil.” Hope this gives you more clarity.

Discrepancy found on Job 29:6
I bought this version for listening along with the audio one-year bible on Youtube. But just by chance, I found discrepancy on Job 29:6, which is different from another small print and webpage, " My cows produced Milk in abundance and my groves poured out streams of olive oil.". I checked another New Living Translation (it's small print therefore I want to have a larger print) and online webpage and found this version read "My steps were awash in cream, and the rocks gushed olive oil for me." Please notify the publisher to rectify the problem.

Not the latest edition.
I purchased this bible for my 10 year old son expecting it to be the latest edition but it turned out to be a 2007 version as mentioned in the copyright details. The last update for the NLT was in 2015. It's kind of disappointing. The seller didn't mention this in the description. Otherwise the Bible is light, easy to handle and readable with adequate quality.

Excellent choice for a first non-study Bible
I already have a study bible in the ESV translation that I primarily use for myself (the Concise ESV Study Bible), but sometimes I communicate with a younger audience that doesn't respond well to that, and who certainly have no use for all the footnotes found in a study bible. Sometimes I consult the NLT myself for passages where the formal equivalence of the ESV yields a clumsy translation that I have trouble understanding. Additionally, NLT is the translation that my church's vacation bible school quotes, so reading passages from the ESV can be a bit of a shock to the kids attending it. This NLT printing is a great choice for reading to kids new to the Bible, and it's cheap enough to give copies away to those curious enough to continue reading on their own. The print is nice and large, and the quality of paper and construction are perfectly adequate -- better than a cheap pulp paperback but not quite as nice as an expensive trade paperback. For my intended use, it's great for the price and is my top recommendation for new Bible readers who prefer the dynamic equivalence of the NLT and hesitate to spend more than a few dollars.

Torn Bible
They sent me a torn bible that has been used. Although, the large print is nice.

A Bible Reasonably Priced to Give Away
This Holy Bible reads easy because it’s in large print and it is the New Living Translation in todays English.. This soft cover book is thicker than the large print Slimline Edition. Besides the old and New Testament it includes notes about Jesus and the Apostles Creed among other helpful tools. It is a nice Bible study gift for someone to become acquainted with Jesus Christ in His Holy Word.

Good font size, great for homeschooling
I love this bible. It’s easy to understand and the font is good size. I bought two, one for homeschooling and another for my husband. I love that it is paperback style and it’s a great Bible for kids. Highly recommend.
