In the past we've tried a few flameless candles I can't say I thought much of them. Much like anything else in life you end up getting what you pay for. I ordered a few sets of these for both for our own home and as gifts. They're lovely albeit not as bright as some others - however the IMAGEO charging systems by Phillips makes these candles efforltess to use and will free you of the cost and hassle of having to keep batteries on hand.Some nice touches are:* Made from real frosted glasso which diffuses the light beautifully.* They're quite elegant even when turned off.* Color is nice and warm* Build quality of both candles and charging plate is excellent* Easy to use - just tilt each candle to either turn off or on ( Never have them site in the charger when on!)* Remember the candles need a full 12 hour charge. If you use them without the full charge the battery will never hold enough juice, this is true of all ion based batteries.We tried them set up in a cluster out on our sun porch in very dark conditions, the light compared to actual candles is no where as bright or warming - but from my limited experiance with other Flameless candles from Orange Tree to Yankee Candle none of them are.. However, they look quite nice and I would think using multiple sets would solve the problem. That or using other low light sources, other flameless candles, real candles, soft up-lighting and so on.The candles arrive in retail packaging I had some sets pre wrapped for gifts and the wrapping was superb. The candles, AC charge adapter and charging plate are each foam encased so not a single chip or scratch. Instructions are included with a direct 1-800 number to the Philips Lighting department.These candles, do have an upscale and elegant look. Although there is no remote, they're effortless to use and produce an incredibly realistic flicker. But again don't expect the light to be as bright as real candles would be. If you're on the fence about these I would urge you to go ahead and purchase a set, as they trump all other flameless candles we've had. And the overall look is gorgeous.Highest Recommendation!

Update 1/23/13:While the lights themselves are still working well and still tend to last about 12 hours per charge, I've noticed that the on/off mechanism is starting to require a more ham-fisted approach. At first I could just tip the candle to turn it on & off, but now it requires multiple attempts or a more violent shake. Still a 4-star purchase in my opinion, but I wanted to update to let you know.-------------------------Original review:There's not much to say about LED candles, so I'll get right to the pros & cons.PROs-Induction charging is great. No exposed contacts is always a good thing.-The charging base and candles look very nice and should fit in with any decor.CONs-The light could be brighter. The fake flames seem to give off about 1/2 the lumens of a real flame.-The light is a bit too orange.Overall I feel like I bought the highest quality LED candles available at this price.

I ordered these candles as a gift for a friend.Unfortunately gift not turned because candles came without adapter.I am very upset.Gift was spoiledAt the moment I can not find the adapter separately.It is a pity that I can not use them they are very beautiful

at first, these seemed pretty cool. shake them on, shake them off. nice warm glow and all glass instead of icky plastic. BUT, if you don't leave them plugged in to charge all the time, they discharge even without use after only a few days. The charging base is plastic, the cord not the sturdiest looking and, after some hours of charging, the base gets quite hot; therefore, and so I don't like the idea of leaving them plugged in all the time on our screened porch where I use them. End result is they are never charged when I want them and they have become dust collectors. If you were to anticipate needing them and only charge before use, they would be fine. They are definitely mood lighting, though, and not real illumination for any meaningful purpose. I would have given these five stars if the cost 1/4 of what I paid but they were hideously overpriced.

No, actually they are quite dim, but if you need a flame-less mood-setting lighting device, this is it. The fact that there are no batteries to buy is a big plus. They last for hours (the light resembles a guttering candle) and recharge in very little time.

I really like these lights - use and charging could not be simpler and many pleasant design details abound. First, they are charged inductively which means you place them in the base but there are no contacts to misalign or corrode. Second, the lights are easily operated by simply tipping them side to side for on and off action. Third, the wall plug is shaped ergonomically so that your thumb and fingers grasp it comfortably but firmly when removing it from the outlet.The lights have an attractive appearance thanks to a finely frosted finish on the glass vessel. The LED inside flickers pleasantly and will fool casual observers that it is a candle. The color of the light is warm and adds to party ambience. The value proposition will depend on how badly how you want to add these to your occasions or your setting - for me they are a useful and fun addition to our garden parties and the product quality and excellent design makes it feel like a sensible buy.
