City Color Contour Effects TWO

So, I am relatively new to contouring, meaning I've been doing it off and on for a while but hadn't bought any products specifically for contouring. I was just using my regular Physician's Formula mineral bronzer. It never seemed to look quite right and I finally realized it was because it was too orangey. I started watching some YouTube videos on contouring and learned that you often need something with more of a grayer undertone rather than an orange undertone in order to get a more natural shadow. I set out on Amazon to find something affordable (I only find the occasion to contour a few times a month, so no need to invest in anything too pricey at this point). I settled on this palette for a few reasons. One, the darkest shade is definitely a grayish cool tone as anticipated. Two, it comes with a highlighter. And three, it seemed to me that the majority of really bad reviews were because the product came broken, not necessarily because the product was bad. I figured if it did come broken I would just file to get my money back. To be honest, I'm really glad I took the chance. The darkest shade is great. A cool gray undertone that looks super natural. The other colors are pretty typical and I use them too. I am a fair redhead so the middle color warms things up a bit so there isn't such stark contrast between the contour and my fair skin. This palette is also great for layering the contour to get it more defined. I love this as a starter contour kit and it fits all of my needs right now.

The pan sizes on these are pretty good size. I would say about 1.5-2 inches in diameter. This is the only cool toned contour palette that I have ever found that is not super expensive. Every other bronzer/ contour palette seems to be really warm toned. Just be careful on the darker shade. If you put too much, it looks a little muddy. I like to mix both the contour and the bronzer shade which looks great on my skin. I'm fair/ light in the winter and light/ medium in the summer time. I can use this year round. Also, it blends really easily.

I'm a brown skinned girl, and it's pretty hard to find contour palettes that work with warm brown skin. Often, the contour shade isn't dark enough. I was pleasantly surprised by CC's first contour palette, because the contour shade was dark and pigmented enough that it served its purpose even on my skin tone. However, the highlight was too cool toned and unnatural. I was hoping for an improvement in the highlight shade with CC's second palette. The highlight color is great, but the pigmentation of all three shades barely shows up on my skin. In comparison to the first palette, this one is a flop for brown skinned girls.

LOVE the Product! Highly pigmented and a flattering color. Blends very nicely so you only need a tiny bit. I have light/medium olive skin and I would absolutely recommend this. Took off a star only for the fact that when I received the product the highlighter was already broken! Since placing it in my makeup case I have managed to spill half of it. Really disappointing.

Seriously best contour pallet you can buy that is budget friendly. This pallet is for more of your natural contour so if that is what you want dont even hesitate to order it because you will fall in love. All of the shades are amazing, the contour is am ashy brown, the bronze is a cool tone lighter brown which makes it very usable because it wont give you that orangy look, this highlight is definitely a very shimmery pop like what is very popular all over the Internet right now. If you dont have this you need it.

When I received the product, I really liked how the contour color (dark color) looked on my face. The bronzer and highlighter are really nice, and when I applied them to my skin, they do go on smoothly and compliment my face. I don't like how the contour color sets on my face, because it does not go on smoothly. It breaks as I am applying the contour, and I'm left with patches of the contour powder all over my face. I have to spend more time blending the contour powder on my face. I've stopped using this color, and will only use the highlighter and bronzer from now on. It's an ok buy if your are on a budget.

I absolutely LOVE this contour palette. The first shade (contour) is a bit lustrous, I wouldn't call it "shimmery" by any means. It appears matte on the skin. The second shade (bronze) it completely matte and it is not too cool or too warm toned, which I think is great! It adds a very natural glow to the cheeks. The third shade (highlight) is VERY shimmery, and looks gorgeous on the top of my cheeks! The formulation is great and they are very blendable, also lasted 12 hours on my skin! I would recommend this product to light to medium skin tones, and the first Contour Effects palette to medium to deep skin! This is my newest STAPLE in my collection!

Received product in standard manilla package with the bubble wrapping with additional bubble wrapping with fragile sticker on product on the inside. Which seemed counterintuitive...but to my surprise the product came with no powder loose or broken when opened. Product was for a friend but came with instructions on the inside cover for those that may need instructions contouring, and the shades suited my friend very well. The product seemed matte which is a plus, because we tend to not want to look sparkly all over as if we were in twilight... All in all a great product but as other reviews have shown I wish you luck on the delivery and condition of your package when you receive it.
