Programmable Controllers Using the Allen-Bradley Slc-500 Family

This book is very good, explicit and straight to the point. From looking over the book after I got, it was clear it was going to give me most of the information I needed to jump start and enhance my PLC learning experience. That is just what I am having.I bought this book because I was going in for a certification program in Automation. A most lucky coincidence is that my Professor is actually the Author of this book. In-fact David is one of the best teacher I have got an he is actually giving us the best which of course makes the book more Valuable.It suffice to say that the hands-on part of working on the computer, doing the actual programing plus its execution with the kit associated with this book, makes every part of the learning experience more fulfilling. I think therefore that that the need to complement this book with these classroom seting to its exploitation, cannot be over emphasized.I recommend not only the book but this couuse to any body who is interested in PLC training as a new skill or in a bid to enhance his working knowldge with this valuable industrial tool.gkviews

IMHO one of the best books on the market if you want to learn and understand Allen-Bradley PLC controllers.A lot of other books are similar to the reference books that you can download for Allen-Bradley site for free.This one actually teaches you programming and also gives you deeper insight in wiring and cabinet layout, and many other related features.Recommended to co-workers (engineers). They find it very useful too.Would definitely recomment - worth the hefty price sticker.

Excellent book for basic understanding of PLCs. Detailed information explained in an easy to follow way.

Good Book. It included old old SLC-500 with DOS as well as Window application . It is more specific regard to AB 's PLC for those worked with OMRON's PLC .

I needed this for school. This is a very technical book that I would recommend to anybody taking electrical systems technologies

Got into the SLC programming world with this book. It was of great help for me and I could finish my SLC projects successfully.The book contains many examples to get started. The book covers the SLC basics.

Great book for learning more on PC's.

Here, we can find a lot examples, of basic Programmable Logical. But, no enough examples using advanced Programming instructions such as, PID, Shift Resister, Sequencer. Excellent book for the beginners.

It is a good introduction to the PLC and it does contain extra chapters on sensors and other input devices. But what is really missing is a good introduction to RSLogix, the programming software, and to the file(s) that are downloaded to the PLC. When you couple RSLogix, Microsoft, serial ports and USB adapters you end up with a nightmare. I found the book's description of programming fine but so much was missing about the programming environment.
