Good Lead Remover
I like this brush very much, although I have to say that for some reason I get better results with the Tornado brush in .45 cal. Probably something to do with the guage of the steel wire getting into the lands and grooves of the wider bore. Still, I like it in .38 spl as well. The best method I have found is to buy a solid copper scrubbing pad for pots and pans, cut a little bit off, wrap it around a used bronze brush and run it through the bore and chambers several times. But this is quicker, cleaner and less hassle if the leading isn't too heavy. They seem to last a long time, too.The brush arrived at my house within a day or two in excellent condition.

Better than Brass.
This also applies to the 22, and 45 cal brushes. The brushes all have a standard male thread which fits my various gun cleaning rods. They are somewhat over-sized so they give a good scrubbing action. The rounded eyelet on the other end can be used with a cord to pull the brush through the barrel if limited access is available from the breech. Or the rod can be passed into the barrel and then the brush attached and the rod pulled back. A couple of passes with brushes wetted with Hoppes #9, followed by some patches seemed to clean up the weapons quickly.I think they may end up being better than brass in the long run. My bristles on an old brass brush wore down. I like the standard Hoppes #9 solvent for cleaning having used it for many years.

Cleans bores well without leaving mess of shed, sharp bristles.
Not a great Hoppe's user, I was skeptical of this new product, but the proof of it was in the use. Better at removing powder residue than nylon, copper or bronze bristle bore brushes. Retains spiral shape well and does not leave shed bristles in bores of firearms, work area, or my hands. I am retiring bristle brushes to backup reserve, and I hope Hoppe's will expand the line to calibers not yet available.

Great Gun Brush
Pros:Well made brushNo-scratch design using hoops of wire instead of the typical blunt-cut wire in most brushesThe tornado design covers 360 degrees multiple timesCons:May not be as aggressive as other straight cut bristle brushesRequires slightly more effort to pull through the bore than a brush like Otis No.35 Brush (338, 340, 35, 357, 38 Pistol) Final Thoughts:This is my favorite bore cleaning brush type, try it, I think it may be yours too.
