Kreg SML-C250-50 Zinc Pocket-Hole Screws, 2 1/2 Inch, #8 Coarse Thread, Maxi-Loc Head (50 Count)

I bought the Kreg tool so I wanted to be sure I bought the correct screws for it to use on my project. They aren't cheap but they worked well so no complaints.

Kreg tools abs screws are super. Always work as supposed to without issues. Trusted name and products.

The genuine Kreg version of this screw for pocket hole joinery is certainly a top quality fastener. Could you get by with lower quality versions? Probably. But for my money, I'll spend the extra dollar to not have to worry about a dull tip or a malformed drive head. Maybe it's less of an issue with square-drive screws, but many times when dealing with cheaper phillips head screws I have issues. Regardless, it's not something I want to be fussing with for screws, so I'll stick with these. I've got through probably 150 building various items for the house and workshop.

I do a lot of work using pocket holes. I used Kreg and generic screws and found the generic screws weren't as good as the Kreg screws. The threads weren't cut as cleanly and they tended to slip out of the bit when tightening in hard wood. The only downside is they are kind of expensive.

What I expected.

I bought these in Amazon rather than in a local hardware store as they were cheaper than store's. Amazon is great in this aspect to be able to offer better prices than competitors. And for sure I am gonna make use of it :D

These are great for projects requiring pocket holes. While you may try and use a regular screw, you won't get the strength and you may just ruin your project.
