Short and STEAMY, your rating of this novelette will 100% depend on what you’re hoping to get out of it. There’s no denying that Kendall Ryan knows how to write a good book, so even this very short story packs a punch. I’m sure fans of her Hot Jocks series will love this little tease, which wastes no time in getting steamy but still gives you a feel for the characters (especially our hero). However - and this is a big however - love is not a part of The Bedroom Experiment; it is pure lust with a forbidden romance that borders on cringeworthy at times (more on that later).Essentially, the story follows Morgan and Isla, two new adults who became step-siblings semi-recently. Morgan can’t deny that Isla is hot, but she’s forbidden and thus not on his radar... until a breakup has her questioning her bedroom skills. Knowing Morgan has plenty of experience, Isla enlists his help in learning how to please a guy.I’ll start with what I liked - I’m impressed by how much we got to know Morgan in such a short story. Ryan really knows how to give her guys personality and that came across with ease. Personally, I think the first half of this would’ve made a great prequel leading into their full-length love story, but that’s not how this plays out. I could’ve overlooked the speed at which these two initially hooked up (IMMEDIATELY following her breakup and without preamble), but the back half is where this loses points for me. No spoilers here, but the circumstances are wholly unsexy and even this novelette isn’t safe from OW/OM interference. Ultimately, I’m not sure what role this plays in the series, but I don’t consider it to be on the same level as its companions. If you’re looking for love, you won’t find it here. If you’re looking for sexy/steamy, this’ll do the trick. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Isla and Morgan are going to give you a sinfully sexy "step siblings" quick story. Isla wants to learn why things went wrong with her ex, who better to teach her than her stepbrother which I'm assuming is supposed to be a player, not really relevant.Morgan has a forbidden crush but he comes to find out he's not alone. How will things go when the parents find out?Quick steamer read. Not much character development but one that will warm-up your winter nights. Great to read before bed. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review but loved it so much I bought it!!!!

His step sister, Isla, has come home for the weekend as well and this one weekend is going to change everything between them. They didn't grow up together and so while they are "step siblings" it's really in name only.Morgan has always had a crush on Isla, but never felt he could act on it. When her boyfriend breaks up with her at the start of the weekend, she asks Morgan for his help with an "experiment". Will he help her with her request? You'll have to read this short, entertaining read!

At age twenty, Morgan's father decided to remarry. It had been just the two of them for so long, but things were changing. Morgan was away at college at the time, but when he came home over break the change was unsettling. His new stepmother now lived in his childhood home. Some of the rooms had been repurposed or redecorated. And then there was the matter of his new step sister - or jail bait, to be more accurate. Seventeen year old Isla was adorably nerdy. Too adorable, so he had to severely limit his interaction with her.Two and one half years and many girls later, Morgan found himself in a most uncomfortable situation. He had recently been drafted to the pro hockey team in Seattle, a few hours away, but his parents were going on a belated honeymoon and asked him to spend a weekend at home with Isla. He and Isla had never been alone together before. And although Isla was no longer jail bait, it was still wrong to think of her as anything other than a sister.Morgan and Isla's story is a playful quick read. Morgan spends years tuning Isla out to keep temptation at bay, but Isla's honesty, openness, and curiosity change the dynamics of their relationship forever. Temptation stews, uncertainty lingers, and finely hope blossoms as Morgan and his step sister Isla hesitantly gravitate to one another and surrender to their feelings. They earn a light-hearted happy ending.This light but steamy novelette can easily be enjoyed in an evening. It is well written. The plot is simple. The characters are well-defined given the length. So when I buy a book I always look at pages length as I can’t stand short stories!Yes it was a decent read but it felt very rushed and when you are expecting 200+ pages it’s incredibly disappointing. It’s a shame as I’ve loved every other book in the hot jocks series.

How you start a relationship often depicts how it survives with honesty trust and love you usually can't go wrong

I decided to read this book because I wanted to know the author, if I would like her writing so I could decide if it would be worth it to invest in some more books from her. And I wasn’t disappointed at all, although it was a quick read (as advertised) it only made me want to read more about this world Kendall created.And this book also deliver a steamy, spice and crazy story! I was so entertained with the story about Morgan the is a young Hockey player in Seattle and Isla she is a college co-ed and her (Ex) boyfriend he just broken up with her because she didn’t have experience in bed. What they have in common? They are step-siblings. Since their parents got married they never lived together but now they were stuck with each other during spring break.Although the whole story is told from Morgan POV, you can see that Isla is a strong minded, determined girl and she proposes to Morgan a “little” bedroom experiment so she can gain some experience!! It was HOT! And his thoughts were steamy and funny, he clearly wanted to help her more then he did. But more than that their chemistry was off charts and you clearly could see they liked a lot, but the situation wasn’t favorable to them, you know as being steps.A year later they got together again and all the scenes were awesome, from the game scenario, the celebrations and off course the surprising reaction from their parents I was so not counting on that!Of course by the end I wanted to learn more from them, what happened to them in the far future (I love some deep long epilogues) but I left satisfied with the end and I was left feeling happy with a sweet HEA! I’m definitely gonna read more and I’m already waiting for “Down and Dirty”!
