Works well as a KVM switch, sometimes kind of flaky
Works well as a KVM switch but sometimes is flaky and requires pressing the "Reset" button or powering off to clear up. Some systems of mine will sometimes not recognize the mouse or keyboard and rebooting the device won't clear it up and only a hard-reset of the KVM ("Reset" button or power off) will restore functionality. Some other laptop systems won't boot at all with the HDMI cable plugged in and I have to disconnect it when booting and re-insert once the OS is running (and then it is fine but is annoying). Powering off or resetting of course clears any changes you made to the defaults so you have to do them again (i.e., turning off the beep when it switches systems). It also sometimes acts flaky when you put a system to sleep or power it off; I can't tell if it is an auto-scan feature or what but it will jump around to different systems which is annoying. It would be nice if you could command it to just stay on a particular system no matter what even if powered off and only switch when you command it to. I can't tell if it truly does this or not since it seems to have a mind of its own scanning for "active" systems to switch to. I don't like that and maybe I haven't figured out the right setting to disable but I can live with it. I only have a 1080p monitor so can't comment on the 4K support but it is working well at 1080p. It seems to only support about 200Hz refresh rate @1080p; be sure to lower your refresh rate before connecting otherwise you might end up with a blank monitor! There is also an extra odd USB device with I think Chinese characters named "xxxx wireless don" that gets installed. There isn't any mention of it in the document and what it is for. Hopefully not some kind of malicious device...

Excellent customer service when unit failed after a few weeks
Electronics can fail anytime but I was impressed by the courteous and professional order support from eKl. The unit stopped working after 3 month and I contacted the eKl support. They walked me through several tries and eventually replace the unit at no charge.
