Romanza" was my first Andrea Boticelli album and still remains my favorite. I think this is the tenor's most definitive collection, showcasing his sweet, rich sound, powerfully held long notes, and exquisite sense of cadence. Supposedly, this was the CD geared to "bridge the gap" between pop and opera. Boticelli certainly exhibits a diverse style with this top-notch selection of romantic songs. I also prefer the mix of both Spanish and Italian lyrics.When I originally bought "Romanza," back in the 20th century, I did so because of Botecelli's interpretation of "Con te Partiro," (Time To Say Goodbye"), which is still an exceptional song after all these years. It is dedicated to German World Light-Heavyweight boxing champion, Henry Maske and was performed at his farewell contest. Botecelli begins the album with his superb rendition of this piece, and ends with a duet of same with soprano Sarah Brightman. Simply outstanding!! The chorus was rewritten for the CD to incorporate the lyrics, "Time to say goodbye."Other favorite cuts include: "Vivere," also a duet, this time with Sicilian soul songstress Gerardina Trovato; "Per Amore" is an intense and intensely beautiful ballad, as is "El Silencio de la Espera," which I simply love. When the song comes on I belt-out the lyrics along with Botecelli - when I am alone with him, of course; "Caruso" is poignant, emotional, poetic, with a wonderful piano backup; "Vivo per Lei" features Giorgia. Her voice blends almost seamlessly with Andrea's in this romantic cut. "Miserere," a live duet featuring John Miles, is wonderfully bluesy and one of my favorite tracks. The contrast between Miles' raspy voice and Boticelli's soaring tones is fantastic!Andrea Boticelli's classically trained, expressive voice combined with the lush instrumental melodies and elegant material make this CD a must have!JANA

This album arrived in great condition. I was a little hesitant in ordering this album due to the high temperatures here in Arizona and being delivered thru USPS where it went to the lockbox in the community mailboxes. I was watching for it to be delivered and when I saw that it had been delivered yesterday I immediately went to retrieve it and found it to be in great condition with no warping. The album played beautifully. Love Andrea Bocelli. I now feel comfortable ordering albums for delivery.

This man's voice is magic. There is not much else I can say better than that. I put him up there with any of the classic tenors. Even songs I probably would not normally like, it is a pleasure to hear him sing them, as he puts so much feeling into his work. You can feel his passion in every song. This album is a mix of contemporary and traditional choices, with a bit of pop tossed in (signing with Sarah Brightman), so not every song may appeal to you, but somehow, when Bocelli sings them, you still stop and listen. This is an excellent album to just sit and listen, or as background for a dinner party (and I recommend Italian food!)Down one star for the recording quality. You probably will not notice the issues on an iPod or phone playback, but played on a living room sound system, the weakness comes through. The recordings were done some time ago and this CD could have been better balanced in dynamic range of the recordings. I would love to see a remastered version of this album with better sound quality. Still, it is very enjoyable.

However, advertised as "new" the CD arrived with a cracked case & the CD is scratched. I don't have the time or energy to take the effort required to return it. I may try to find it again somewhere because the album itself is beautiful. It's one of Andrea Bocelli's best. If you only have one of his albums, this is the one you want.

I smiled as I read the reviews for this album. (yeah, I'm that old...they'll always be "albums" to me)Mr. Bocelli may not have perfect phrasing, but I am managing to enjoy the music all the same. I chose this CD as my first purchase for the title song, which I could listen to for hours on end. And the rest of the CD is really enjoyable, too.If you're not an opera critic, I think you will get as much enjoyment from this music as I do. I guess there are times when lack of education can be valuable. I understand that people who know of what they speak can find flaws with Bocelli's work, but I marvel that music like this can come from any human, since I couldn't do it in a million years.So I appreciate this CD, the talented musicians who contributed, and Bocelli's lovely singing. Chances are the causal reader of this review will too. I really believe you will love it as much as I.Enjoy!

Andrea Bocelli has the operatic voice that also sounds contemporary and cool. All great tracks on this CD and fantastic for Valentines day twosomes.

I simply love the voce!

At the price this LP costs i cannot believe how badly warped it is. I have never had a record in my collection this badly warped. If i new i could get one not warped i would return this one. Very disappointed....
