You get what you pay for
I bought this with a little trepidation because of the mixed reviews on it. But, for the price, it's a nifty little track set. It's a bit tedious to set up and the plastic bits that hold the track up don't snap very tightly so I am constantly putting them back on. If mounted on a wooden board or even thick foam board, that issue would be fixed. As far as it actually working, we haven't had any problems. The control is sensitive, but my 3 and 5 year olds have done surprisingly well keeping the cars on the tracks. If you give it full speed, they will fly off, but isn't that part of the fun of slot car racing? Overall, pleased with this product.

Eh...
Bought it for my son. And although it was an experience putting it together I would like to say it didn't last long. It's not as easy to attach yet alone take apart the track pieces. Also one of the cars quickly.. VERY SOON AFTER (Like 2days or so)No longer wanted to work on the track. Long story short. I wouldn't recommend for lil kids..maybe 7-9 and up.. And even then they might get frustrated with the remotes not always working or the cars not always running on the track

Nope.
Car's don't stay on track well at all, even if going slow. Unfortunately I bought this item in October to get a head start on Christmas, and the return period is closed. I definitely should've paid attention to the other reviews.

The kids love it. It doesn't take up too much space and can be operated easily by my 5-year-old. My 3-year-old tends to press the button down and make the car go full speed, hence causing it to fly off the track, but they still love it nonetheless.

Racing the cars is fun and easy enough for the kids
Racing the cars is fun and easy enough for the kids, and the main part of the track stays assembled well, which I suppose is the important part, but all the extraneous parts (the guardrail, the track supports) do not stay attached at all. Also it's kind of goofy that the power source for the cars is right in the middle of the track instead of on an outside part, so you have make sure you have your control up in the air or else the cars will get caught up in the wires.

Bad track
Got this as a starter slot car track for my son to see if he liked the concept before spending the money on a pricey one. This proved to be pointless. I know it is a cheaper version of what you can get, but I expected it to work. The cheap plastic track pieces will not stay together. The pieces to hold the track up are just small pieces of plastic that don't even attach to hold the ramp up. When trying to put the guard rail on, we just have up bc every time you touch the track, the track pieces come apart. The remotes we very poorly made, and even going at the slowest speeds the cars wouldn't stay on the track for more than an inch or two! It was my sons 6th bday gift, and we unfortunately the same night took it back apart and put it back in the box. Even as adults we couldn't get it to work properly

Ah.. the memories.
Easy setup. brought back childhood memories of trying to keep these darn cars on the track. Bought for a Indy500 race party to entertain the kids.

Golden Bright Speed Racer
Grandson like's it a lot. Only problem is it runs a little too fast. Seems to be pretty strong too. It was a good buy for the price.
