Speck Products Candyshell Case for Iphone 5 & 5s (Bulk Packaging) (White/gray) (Certified Refurbished)

I have dropped my phone in its Speck case countless times, and the Speck has kept my phone safe on nearly every occasion. What I like best is the little ridge the rubber forms around the front of the phone. This generally keeps the screen safe. One time, I dropped my phone and a tiny stone got lodged in the screen protector. (Phew!) But that was no fault of the Speck, and the damage would likely have been worse had I not had it on. Otherwise, I've dropped it on backs, sides, and corners--enough to be labeled Mr. Butterfingers--and have never experience a ding, scratch, scrape, or anything on the phone.Yes, the little plastic piece where your charger plugs in will break (see no less than 100 reviews below). I've owned several of these cases, and it always happens eventually. Yes, it's annoying as heck, but I've gotten several more months out of my case even after that piece splits. (Speck, please fix this issue if possible, 'cause seriously, it's the only thing not perfect on this case.) Generally, once this piece breaks, the rubber starts to warp and give way, but again, I've gotten several months out of the case after this point.Overall, I love Speck cases and buy them over and over again.

*** update***I contacted speck about how my case had broken by the charge port and how the bumper was disintegrating and they sent me a new one. This is a great company that stands behind their product. The bumper on the new case looks like better material as well. 2 star rating upgraded to 5 star. WTG speck!!!!I bought this case because I had a friend who loved the speck cases and said they were good quality. It is a nice case but after a few months I experienced disintegrating on the grey rubber bumper on the front and then the white plastic thin piece by the charging port cracked and broke. I didn't mind as I don't drop my phone or really have it out over a hard surface but I cut my finger on it. I have contacted support and will reply again if I get a resolution.

I've purchased four Speck cases, and in general I like their products, but this one is my least favorite of their cases. The case is such a tight fit around the phone that it's impossible to take the case off without breaking/cracking the case. As long as you never take the case off of your phone, this case will work well. You can still charge the phone and use headphones as long as they're standard Apple issue items, but if you need to plug anything into the charger or headphone jack that's larger than the standard issue, you will have to take the case off, and do to that you'll have to break the case. Speck has a version of this same case that has a flippable bottom that does a great job of solving this problem - I recommend looking at that one if you think you'll ever need to take the case off.

This case is great - I've always bough Speck cases because they last so long and protect my phone. I love how the case and rubber are taller than the phone, so if I drop it I don't have to worry about the screen breaking. One downside is that I can't dock my phone on my iHome. It's not a huge deal because I can just plug it in through the USB. In the cases that I don't have my cord though, I have to take the whole phone out of the case. When I go to put my phone back in, though, it pulls on the rubber pretty hard that is around the front of thee case. I worry that it will p

I go straight to Speck when buying a case for my phone! The quality is amazing and will last you years. I am not even scared when I drop my phone because of how protective this case is. It is also very very comfortable and the power and volume buttons are easy to press, also the camera still works and doesnt show any of the case when taking a picture! I would highly recomend this case!

I have been using this case for about a year in a construction industry where I use my phone to document and it has seen a lot of drops. I’ve gone through about 4 or 5 glass screen protectors and this case is still going strong. I’ve been a fan of the speck cases for many years and will continue to buy them when I get a new phone. Broke my iPhone within days of putting a lifeproof on it with a much less dramatic drop than this case has held up to.

It's nice for the reduced price but the plastic part scratches easily, it's not noticeable until light hits it at an angle. The rubber parts do get damaged. I don't hate the case but it's not one of my favorites it does protect your phone well though.

Awesome! Bought this for my brother because his other phone case broke recently. It's been holding up really well. There are a couple of noticeable scratches on the back already even though he's been using it for less than a week, but at least his phone isn't getting scratched. Can't complain for the price.
