What a difference.
We have really crappy well water and it used to stain all of concrete, patio, deck and side of the house. This product works like a dream to prevent it all. Important to use the correct formula and we have this hooked directly into our sprinkler system, Love this product.

Determining the amount to add to your sprinkler siphoning tank
You need to know the iron level and PH of the well water for the sprinkler in order to know how much to add to your tank. You can buy an iron test kit that contains testing strips (cheap) on Amazon and take a water sample to your local pool store for PH testing.

Great product but seller sent wrong item
I hate to leave a 1-star so let me make it clear up front that American Hydro is a great (local) company and their products are exceptional. They have helped me several times and once even fixed my pump at no charge. Can't say enough good things about them. But unfortunately Amazon does not have separate ratings for the product and the overall purchase experience.This 1-star is for the seller, which I believe is Amazon since this is a Prime item. I paid the premium for the Extreme formula which per the water test that American Hydro did is what I should be using. (I used to use formula 1000 but this is the replacement.) This is a very heavy 2.5 gallon jug of formula and not practical to re-box and fuss with sending back. Without the proper formula perhaps there is still some benefit but it is pretty much a given that our house, sidewalk, and new patio will start turning an ugly shade or orange again. Next time I suppose I'll stick with a local seller, which is slightly cheaper anyway but a bit of a drive from my house which is why I figured I'd give this option a try.
