One bad module with Quad Channel is a B@#$%....
[Update 7/14/2014]RMA'd this quad channel for a new set directly from Corsair (not from seller) and they work 100% fine with no errors.Works flawless even optimizing RAM with overclock and voltage increases. Was able to get a 41% increase stable performance with tweaked CPU and RAM voltages.Running a 6-core Intel 4930K using the 4-way optimizer from my Asus X79 deluxe mobo it was able to automatically adjust voltages, clocks, etc. from 3.4GHZ to 4.8GHZ stable with cores acting independently. Have yet to try it with all the cores synced.[Prevoius review]For quad channel RAM to work properly, you have to make sure to buy them as 4 pack (quad channel) because all 4 modules are tested together. Well, I must have initially received an unlucky pack before RMA'ing it directly through Corsair (because it would take too long thru Amazon). Here's are some issues I was initially having. The 32GB of RAM was randomly getting unrecognized by my BIOS (and Windows). I think it might've been a seating issue when it was plugged into RAM slot on my motherboard, Asus X79 Deluxe. The main thing I noticed was, in the BIOS, it was telling me that one module of RAM (on slot B1) was abnormal. Even when I rebooted several times.I swapped out 2 modules to see if it would show up abnormal in another slot. It appeared the abnormal one showed up abnormal again in the swapped slot but then I rebooted it showed up as "ok" So not sure if it was still a seating issue or it was the module. But even when all were seated and recognized properly, I ran memtest86 on all 4 modules and I received at least 18 total errors every time.I'm going to do further testing but I have a feeling I'm going to RMA them. It seems that the culprit module was that one showing abnormal but I can't just swap out 1 module in a Quad Channel package. Have to replace the whole set.16 errors were on two of the tests (described below on passmark memtest86 webiste):"Test 6 [Block move, 64 moves]This test stresses memory by using block move (movsl) instructions and is based on Robert Redelmeier's burnBX test. Memory is initialized with shifting patterns that are inverted every 8 bytes. Then 4mb blocks of memory are moved around using the movsl instruction. After the moves are completed the data patterns are checked. Because the data is checked only after the memory moves are completed it is not possible to know where the error occurred. The addresses reported are only for where the bad pattern was found. Since the moves are constrained to a 8mb segment of memory the failing address will always be less than 8mb away from the reported address. Errors from this test are not used to calculate BadRAM patterns."and two of the errors were on "Test 9 [Modulo 20, Random pattern]""Using the Modulo-X algorithm should uncover errors that are not detected by moving inversions due to cache and buffering interference with the algorithm."Like I said, I still have to do individual tests on each RAM to see which ones are the culprit or if any different errors show up with this method. Here are the rest of my specs:Asus X79 Deluxe motherboardi7 4930k @ 3.4ghzGTX 780 SC w/ ACX 3GBCorsair H100i CPU water cooled heatsink/fanM500 960GB SSD

WORKS IN MY BEAST OF A MACHINE
All worked, no duds. These are used in a very high end machine used for working with 4K video footage and is used constantly. So far, so perfect.Very happy, no buyers remorse

Buy these new - second hand not worth the hassle
Ok, so I'd been looking to replace my RAM for a while whilst upgrading to 32GB, and just happened to spot a warehouse deal that saved me a cool Β£50 off the RRP. In short though, this was one of those bad warehouse experiences and the saving was not worth the hassle - skip past the next paragraph if you don't want to know about that. The kit that arrived must have been sitting in a warehouse for years, the sticks appeared to be two 16GB kits combined (as they were slightly different colours) and were ver. 3.05. They seemed ok, passing windows memory tests but then bsod my PC multiple times with different errors, one during a windows update got my PC stuck in a boot loop forcing me to refresh my OS (which took 5 hours to reinstall everything, luckily my drives are partitioned). The worst part is bsod's are hard to diagnose (it would be very hard if you're a beginner) with different causes and driver issues leading to each crash, it was clear however that the RAM was the issue. It does have a lifetime warranty so you could rma in this situation and get them fixed/new ones at the cheaper price - but who knows how long that will take? TL:DR it seems buying RAM is one of those things you should aim to get brand new.In the end I returned them and bought a new kit, which has been fantastic. The new kit was ver. 8.(something) so clearly far more refined than the warehouse ones. The under glow is fantastic on these sticks (pic2), it's a much more subtle and mature led effect, and also serves a useful purpose by showing me when my PC is in sleep mode. It looks particularly nice in a dark room, and you could theme your build entirely around this effect. The sticks are super fast and look really nice, they also feel extremely high quality and the warranty makes them worry free. Know what you are buying though, these are enthusiast sticks for people who want their system to look beautiful and are not great price/performance wise (go for the vengeance pro if you want that, almost identical performance).32GB is also much more than most will need, but it does look great having each slot filled. It only increased my Firestrike score by about 50 by jumping from 1866mhz 16gb to 1866mhz 32gb, but it made a noticeable difference to my after effects rendering times, cutting about 25/30% off of HD video renders - worth it if you work with memory intensive programmes but not necessary for even fairly intensive work like PS or gaming. I also wouldn't advise going above 1866mhz if you're a gamer as it will make no difference to your fps. I've actually seen some charts where higher clocked ram performed 1fps worse. The difference in rendering times is also, in my opinion, not worth the cost (almost twice as much as 1866mhz for 2400mhz). But if you want the 'best' it's always an option. My only critique is that the lightbar kit is not included for free or a reasonable price (Β£25 for 2 bars and some plastic filters is a joke). At this price and long after the product has launched corsair could have begun including this as a way to make the dominators stand out above the rest (through customisation). Conclusion: I can't acurately rate them on Amazon as they are 5/5 for what they do and how they look but I'd say 9/10 is better as the extra options should be included or at least reasonably priced (Β£20/25 for 4 bars and 5/10 filters would be far more reasonable), and they don't offer much beyond looks for the significant extra cost over other RAM from Corsair. Ultimately though they look great, they work great, and they'll last a lifetime!
