It's appears to be a new version (1st gen) of the original one that is red; this version offers more security.

Limitations –
1) Since the pure data blocker has a zero-chip design principle, it doesn’t have the SmartCharge chip featured in our 3rd Gen design. This means charging speed may be slower with some combinations of device and charger.
2) The blocker is not compatible with extra fast charging technologies such as ‘Qualcomm Quick Charge’ ‘Samsung adaptive fast charge’ as these require data transfer to be enabled. Public USB chargers do not support these standards either so your device will charge as normal.
3) Some car USB sockets do not provide enough power to charge a device, so a dedicated USB car charger must be used.

What is the max power throughput rating of this adapter?

I believe that this gadget will handle any power that comes from the power cube/adapter. It is basically an adapter with two wires which allows the current to run through (but no wires for data). It is useful when you use a public usb outlet such as in a coffee shop, airport or the usb outlet found at the base of the lamps in many hotels. If you are in a country where you are concerns about ‘state sponsored’ security issues, place this between your own power adapter and charging cable . One cannot be too paranoid, sometimes. :)
