Hyperkin RetroN 3 Gaming Console 2.4 GHz Edition for Super NES/Genesis/NES (Onyx Black)

Received this about a week ago and haven't been able to stop playing it. Found a few games on Amazon and at a local reseller shop. Reading past reviews, I wanted to comment as a casual gamer: build quality is fine, not great but fine and will do the job. Putting in the cartridges, though, didn't have the original "snap" feel that they were secure. One game that I purchased, I had to keep taking out and putting back in to make it work. After a few times though, no additional issues. Controller: I have read a lot about how the controllers do not work well. I had every intention of purchasing controllers but I thought I would give these a try first. Although they are geared more to the Sega console, I do not have any issues with the controllers and like them enough to ditch the idea of getting additional controllers for NES, SNES, Genesis compatibility. My recommendation would be to give them a try before getting new controllers. The NES, SNES, Genesis controllers out there are cheap enough but for me it was about having even more controllers around and swapping out on the fly. One caveat, and something you will need to get used to, the configurations do not match and since they are Sega geared, may have a different feel for NES/SNES games but since overall the controllers for the games are not as complex as they are today, I haven't had any issues - but something to keep in mind.Overall, the product has met/exceeded my expectations and would recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing.

Lots of fun. First one stopped working after a month. Seller exchanged it for another one. Get the 500 in 1 NES game cartridge with it.

For ease of playing numerous systems this is great. My LCD tv does not have an SVideo so j am stuck with the basic cables. The picture quality looks about right but the sound has a hum that doesn't seem like it should be there. Controllers work well most of the time but sometimes are a little unresponsive. Most of the time I just use authentic controllers. NES and SNES take a little adjustment to read the game so you have to restart a fair amount, similar to the originals but Genesis rarely gives any trouble. If your Genesis game does have an error message flip the switch at the back and restart and it will work. Overall build quality seems a little lacking but I does give you good gameplay and the convenience of 3 systems in one.

What a piece of junk. It worked fine for one day. One. Day. I have a lot of games from all of these systems and was looking to see how many of them worked, how the sound was, testing controller ports.Well the next day the NES cartridge pins in the console were super bent and wouldn't read games anymore.Mind you I'm a private collector of video games. This wasn't just some, "Let's get my childhood back." thing. I just wanted less stress on my hardware.This piece of crap bricked after one day of use. One day. It's cool having S-Video Genesis and Genesis "simulated stereo" but you're much better off spending the extra 20 dollars and getting a modded Wii that does all of these consoles more accurately and more efficiency.

i love this system! my husband got me this system for Christmas, and i have played it so much! I prefer the Retron 3 to others, because I only needed the Nintendo, Super nintendo, and sega genesis as those are the games I have. The games show up pretty well on our HD TV, but as expected for games made years ago when graphics were not as detailed. i would recommend using original controllers, as the wireless ones are not that great. We have not had a bit of trouble from this system, and now I can play Super Mario world to my heart's content!

The system was awesome until I tried the nes site with a new game I ordered on amazon it doesn't work at all, and the game gets stuck as well. Im really upset since this was a Father's Day present, its a shame for me knowing I give my husband who deserves the best because he works really hard for our family and he got something damaged. Only the snes port site works. I dont know about the sega port since we dont like sega games.

Works well with all the games I've tried so far. The wireless controllers work with all the games and have good connections.Everything has poor build quality. It feels like very cheap plastic that may not lost very long. The controllers require disposable batteries and they do not have an off switch. After use you have to remove the batteries from the controllers to avoid battery drain and acid leakage. The lack of HDMI in any modern system is terrible and perplexing.

This unit is great I can play all of my old carts without having to deal with the finicky older systems that I haveI did come across one game that will not play on the system that is afterburner for the NES

Works great. Plays all the games like they were meant to be played.Pros: easy setup, works well for most games, easy to use.Cons: some NES games won’t play, the controllers shipped with the unit aren’t great (the button position is odd and seems reversed).All in all, it’s a great system. Just buy different controllers and enjoy.

Me encantó la consola, ideal para desempolvar tus viejos cartuchos de Nintendo y Megadrive, lo malo de la consola es el mando inalámbrico, no responde con eficacia el direccional pero los botones ningún problema pero un consejo , el que está acostumbrado al mando oficial de Super Nintendo le dará ciertos dolores de cabeza hasta que se acostumbre.

System arrived in perfect condition and works very well. My only issue is the controllers that come with it. They work but they feel pretty flimsy and the buttons are massive. It just feels clunky. But you can plug in your old controllers into it so it's not a problem. I just think they need a redesign.The system itself works great though. :)

Excelente, cumplió con todas las expectativas. Los mandos inalámbricos funcionan pero los reemplacé por mandos originales de SNES y Genesis, por la disposición de botones y por la posibilidad de añadir “turbo” a los botones, imposible en los inalámbricos.

Purchased for a friend, they say it has been working very well and has flawlessly played all their games so far. A must have for anyone who does not want to spend the money for 3 old consoles.
