I can confidently say I will never miss a call in the night again! Great unit!
I am on call 24-7 and missing a call can mean loosing business. I was after something that would make my ring tone on my phone loud so that I can hear it even when I am sleeping. I saw this particular product and out of the "ringers" that are available online I decided to purchase this one. This arrived in its own product box. Inside the box: 1 x ringer unit, 1 x antenna, 1 x USB with electrical plug, 1 x reset pin and a quick start guide. On the reverse of the guide is a QR code that takes you to the full manual if you need it. SET UP Setting this up is very simple. Screw the antenna to the ringer unit. Decide where to place the unit as this needs to be plugged in for it to work. I chose the hallway which is more or less in the center of our house. Plug the unit in and pair this with your phone via blue tooth. Renny JR will show up on the available blue tooth connections. SETTINGS Ring or music modes - slide the switch located on the side of the unit either to the right (ring) or the left (music). In the music mode you will hear all audio, email and text notifications, music, videos etc. The listing does mention that in the music setting it is not ideal for music streaming. I have not tested this out. There is also a statement on the packaging box that they do not recommend this unit for music even though there is an option. Ringtone - Press the musical note button which is located on the side of the unit to choose your desired ring tone. There are 5 different ringtones to choose from. Volume - To adjust the volume press the V- or the V+, both these buttons are located on either side of the ringtone button. I have automatically set this to the loudest setting. Phone number announcement - Press and hold the musical note button, you will hear the voice prompt to turn this on or off. I have not enabled this setting as I don't need it. BLUE TOOTH CONNECTION Bluetooth connection - I have had no problems at all with this connection. I have left the house and come back and the blue tooth has reconnected to my iPhone without any problems. It is worth remembering that if for some reason you need to unplug the unit you will have to manually connect the blue tooth again. HOW THE RING WORKS I thought it was worth mentioning and I can only speak to the RING setting. When my phone rings, the cell phone will ring first, then the Renny unit will ring. Both rings alternate. This is a good feature especially if you have misplaced your phone you will be able to hear it and locate your phone easily. The setting choices are very limited which I don't mind. I just wanted to have a straight forward ring tone loud enough for me to hear even while sleeping. There are no frills to this ringer and it does the job. Overall for a simple loud ringer this is the perfect product for me. This works on my iPhone and I did test out my wife's phone who has a Samsung, so this should be compatible with most phones. I can also see that this would be ideal for those who are hard of hearing. The price of $59.99 is reasonable and it is worth noting that you do get a 5 year warranty with this unit by the US based company.

I KNOW WHEN THE PHONE IS RINGING, no matter where I left it!
I don't carry my cell phone around and have a tendency to leave it next to where I was the last time I talked on it. But I installed RENNY (easy!) and I have had a couple of phone calls now. I LOVE RENNY! I can hear Renny (even if I'm not near my phone). I can hear it ring when I'm back in the bedroom or the workroom or the mudroom and I know when to look for the phone. It's fabulous! I'm not hard of hearing but I have a sprawling house, and I don't carry my phone around with me. When I hear Renny playing the 1970s phone ring, I know someone is trying to call me and I go look for my phone. It's great!

Super great, good support
It's so easy to set up. If you have any questions the support is very helpful. You could be a hundred years old and you get this bell to work. I love it. The phone rings in between that renney phone rings. Meaning you can hear the Renney phone is ringing very loudly but in between you can figure out where your phone is by sound. If Renny rings but you can't find your phone, then look inside your car just outside. I got a second one. Each one has a different sound so I know which phone it is. I'm thinking about getting a third one. It's absolutely wonderful if you want to hear your phone is ringing. Renny will ring when your phone's sound is accidentally turned off. I hate how easy it is to turn down the sound on your phone. Old-fashioned phones didn't do that. I would rather hear the phone ring at night than to miss important phone calls at any time of the day.

Happy - So Far
Let me state up front that the only reason I am withholding one star is that I have not used the product long enough to confirm durability or design life, which will be an important feature since I will not be pleased with the need for annual replacement. (I am particularly concerned about the microphone since, for some reason, it seems to be the weakest design component. If the microphone fails, I will update this review.) Having said that, A+ for design. Very nice-looking product. High marks for simplicity and ease of operation. Bluetooth for Dummies. In response to some who have complained that the ring volume is still not loud enough, all I can say is Yikes! The ring volume is excellent. When combined with a trick I discovered to increase the length of the ring volume, it becomes a fairly attention-grabbing ringer. Consistent with the experience of others, microphone volume for voice transmission is good, not great, up to five feet away, which is fine for me. I would say it is quite clear up to two ft away. I had problems getting the voice mail to transmit through the speaker. The voice mail kept getting kicked back to the cell phone speaker, which is not very loud. Because the voice mail is accessed by dialing a different phone number, I thought I would somehow also have to pair the voice mail number with the bluetooth speaker, which, of course, I was unable to do. Worked with the phone manufacturer for awhile with no results. After thinking some more, I tried accessing the voice mail using my phone's voice command feature. This works โ and only this works. If I access voice mail by any other means, such as tapping the โcall backโ option, it does not transmit the the bluetooth speaker. I am guessing this might be a phone problem more than a speaker problem, but not entirely sure. (I should probably add as an FYI that the cell phone is an LG306G Tracfone, so not high end.) Second to last observation may be a misunderstanding on my part, but outgoing calls do not go through the bluetooth speaker. When I attempt to use the Voice Command feature of my phone to make an outgoing call, while paired with the Renny Home, the phone shuts off, then turns on, but no call is made. I am not sure what to make of this. I expected that recipients of outgoing calls would transmit through the bluetooth speaker โ and my voice would transmit through the Renny Home microphone, but this is only true for incoming calls, not outgoing. Last observation is a quibble but the computerized voice could be a tad more soothing. Sounds too much like Lilly Tomlin doing her operator routine. I will add, as an editorial comment, that this is a good product idea for older people who miss the amplified ring volume of the old cordless landline-connected phones, as well as the adjustable number of rings. When a household "cuts the cable cord", it also loses the bundling discounts so landlines become even more expensive. So typically cable cutting implies cell phone replacement of landlines. Cell phones come equipped with different design features because they are meant to be carried in your pocket or purse. When used to replace a landline inside a home, a product like the Renny Home compensates for the inadequacies of a cell phone. I think I passed the point of TMI, but as a final comment, did I mention that this little guy is loud?

10/10 recommend
Works very well. My husband works on call and has to pick up the phone when they call. I bought this to see if it works and it wakes up the whole house. Very easy to set up and great price for the quality of it.

TOO LOUD
This item is, in fact, TOO LOUD - for my 91 yr old ears! Haven't decided to use it due to that - unless I find a way to put it in another room to alert me - having it in the same room as I normally sit is not tenable. Perhaps I'll have to try to use it only on the 'music' setting vs the ring setting. Though not sure what use I would have for it. Also could use it downstairs in the exercise room perhaps - though I wouldn't be able to get to my phone in time if it alerts me that I've left the phone upstairs while I'm down doing my exercises, but at least I'll know that the phone rang while I was down stairs. Too late to return this - but my own fault. IT ABSOLUTELY needs to be able to turn the volume down MORE than it does so it can be set to be in the room I sit - and alert me to calls coming in on my cell phone which I may have left in my bedroom down the hall but can't hear when the TV is on. Right now - can't use it in the same room I'm in as it is TOO LOUD. A spendy mistake on my part.
