IF YOURS WONT TURN ON TRY THIS!
I ordered two of these bad boys and I gotta say when I got the first one and it didn't even turn on, I was pissed. More pissed when the second one did the same thing. Fortunately I contacted Laserlyte and they told me that there is often a film on the battery connector and that I should swab it with a cue-tip and bit of rubbing alcohol. I used some gun solvent and it worked immediately! The laser itself is really cool and just a great idea even if not used with a shotgun it gives you intimidate target acquisition which if you shoot in any 3 gun or high stress situations I can tell you is not easy with a single dot laser. I assume this stress multiples several times over if you are in a self defense situation. Additionally, these come with a warranty as well as customer service. If yours won't hold zero or has issues they will send you a pre-paid shipping envelop and fix or replace it free of charge. Is the fact that this film over the battery cap being so wide spread that it's the #1 complaint in negative reviews an issue? yes, and should they fix it, yes. But if you have issues call their customer service. Because when these work they are fantastic!

Great concept/Poor Quality
Great concept but poor quality. I purchased this to go on a Mossberg Shockwave. It came in on time and installed easily. At first it seemed to work great. I tried sighting it in with a laser boresighter but I had a difficult time getting enough adjustment from the LaserLyte to get the dots to match up. Once I finally got it sighted in I replaced the short term batteries included in the packaging with the long-life batteries, also included. Pretty soon the laser began turning off by itself and only coming on intermittently. Now it doesn't come on at all. If the quality was good this would be a fantastic product because it's much easier to get on target with the circular pattern, especially in strobe mode. Unfortunately, this is not a product you want to depend on when you hear a noise at night.

GREAT LASER FOR THE PRICE, BUT READ THIS, OR BE FRUSTRATED
Received two of these yesterday - one for a handgun and the other for a long gun. I've installed the one on the pistol, but haven't performed the final zeroing at the range, yet. So far, it gets 4 stars instead of 5 for three reasons: dead batteries, the miniscule adjustment set screws and the incomplete directions.I really like this laser. The pattern is bright, the ambidextrous switches respond with just a slight press of my fingertip, it feels solid, mounts quickly and securely, and looks great. I think it's a great buy for the money. But out of the box, it would not turn on. At all. It comes with a set of three (3) batteries already installed (a mistake, IMHO), and one backup set. I took out the batteries and cleaned the contact at the bottom of the battery compartment as one reviewer suggested, but to no avail. Installed the fresh backup batteries, and it worked immediately. Coming with the batteries installed is a bad idea. Depending on how long it sits in a warehouse/store before being sold, the batteries can corrode and ruin the electronics. Second, it's very easy (if not purposely designed that way) to turn on the laser through the packaging. If left on, the batteries will be drained in a matter of hours. In fact, I just discovered that the second one that I bought also won't turn on. Since the plastic packaging in front of the buttons is a little "crinkly", I suspect dead batteries, again. So, if yours doesn't work immediately, first clean the contact, then replace the batteries. As other reviewers have mentioned, the set screws for windage and elevation adjustments are tiny and require the tiny Allen wrench that's included. To make sure the wrench was seated in the set screws, I had to use a pair of needle-nosed pliers to grab the wrench and positively seat it while I tried to turn the wrench with my other fingers to make the adjustments. It was slow-going. Tiny knobs would have been better.Installation on the gun was quick and easy. But the laser was way off - very high and to the left of the gun's front sight. The directions for sighting in the laser were good, but they don't tell you which direction to turn the set screws for windage and elevation adjustment. One simple example would have been helpful, so listen up: If the laser pattern is (for example) high and to the left of your front sight, turn the windage screw CLOCKWISE to adjust the pattern (i.e., the center dot) until it's 0.5 inches to the left of the front sight, and then turn the elevation screw CLOCKWISE to lower the center dot until it's 0.5 inches above the front sight. Continue to turn both screws clockwise in 1/4 turn increments until the center dot is sitting on top of your front sight. Of course, you should make final adjustments at the range.I highly recommend this center mass laser, and if you take my advice,I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Great shotgun laser!!!
Just got the laser today and so far I love it. The description says it comes with 3 batteries but I was excited to find that mine came with 6 batteries. It's so nice that I have the batteries to start running the laser now and a back up set. The product was a fast and easy install. Included in the packaging was 3 allen keys and a spare nut. It came with one installation allen key to secure the laser to the weapon rail and 2 small allen keys to adjust windage and elevation. The only issue I had was the product packaging was damaged. The plastic over the laser was cracked on the left and right sides, but there doesn't seem to be any damage to the laser itself. I can't wait to take my shotgun and this laser to the range to see how it holds up after shooting. Adjusting the windage and elevation was simple. I love that this laser projects a shot pattern that also expands over distance. I see this being most helpful on a home defense/tactical shotgun, but it can be used on any weapon. It has two activation buttons that do the same thing (turn on and off) but make it simple to engage on either side. I could see it giving you an expected shot placement with error for poor trigger control. The laser is light and has a small profile. I have very high hopes for this laser!

Great idea, bad manufacturing
Great concept but the wind-age and elevation adjustment screws are ridiculously small and the ridiculously small allen key they send with it strips when when you try to turn it , making adjustment impossible. Then when you try to tighten it to a rail, that adjustment screw sinks into the plastic housing making it impossible to get a secure fit on the gun. I called the company to tell them of this and they said "sorry we don't ship to Canada, so there isn't much we can do except give you instructions on how to make adjustments". Well that would have been helpful if the screws and allen keys wern't in the realm of MICRO!
