It needed some set up but it works so well!
This device works a treat for me, and I am very pleased indeed. However, I have a couple of gripes. The device arrives set up for Germany and everything (including the admin web pages and instruction manual) is in German. However, with an internet search I quickly found the English version of the set up guide for the ZTE MF920V and downloaded it.I charged the device, popped in an activated data-only O2 SIM and the device sprang into life. I then connected my laptop PC via WiFi using the SSID and PW on the rear of the device. Having then selected the 'admin' web page (IP address: 192.168.0.1), I changed the menu language to English from a drop-down.I was surprised to find that admin security was completely disabled and no admin PW was required. To enable it, I then needed to enter the default PW 'admin' and then changed it. Other purchasers need to be aware of this and secure the device correctly ASAP.Anyway, all of the above is why I have only rated the device at 4-stars.That said, it works a treat with my laptop, my mobile and a tablet - even in poor signal areas. Data speed is surprisingly good even on trains and hotel rooms. Battery life is realistically ~4 hours actual use. That's OK for me and I just recharge it overnight. On the 'admin' pages you can set up data management to track data usage against your allowance and to set up warnings when you approach your data limit. You can adjust the power of the WiFi signal as necessary. I found the low setting to be usually more than adequate and this helps enhance battery life. Also as regards power saving, you can set a timer for the device to go into standby after a period of inactivity. So, other than the initial 'gripes', I am very pleased. This is a simple to use and effective little device. I don't leave home without it.It is also good value when compared with other offerings. A couple of colleagues use similar devices from Huawei and TP-Link. Their performance, battery life and functionality are very similar to this ZTE device (I can see no material difference), but they do cost 30% more!I have asked Amazon (in vain) to update the listing so future buyers are aware of what they are getting.....Notes-1). - My device came packaged with an unadvertised "Smarty" data SIM which offers 2GB of data for £7.50 pm. I use a preloaded O2 data SIMs so it wasn't much use to me. Others may find it convenient.2). - Surprisingly, also unadvertised, is the excellent "ZTELINK" App for Android devices. This allows full management of the device from a mobile phone and is equivalent to the webpage admin from a PC or browser. The App is available free from the 'Play Store' and is very easy to set up and use. You will need to input the same PW as set up for the webpage admin. It has all of the features of the web access page plus a useful diagnostic routine in the case of connection problems. This App is now my preferred way to manage this excellent little device. It also gives me a quick check on data use and allows me to set alerts.

Do not be fooled by these reviews, It's BAD, Really BAD
As promised, A quick review on the 4g Router: ZTE - MF920VI don't need to write about this much, it came from Amazon UK. When I got it its all in German, So you have to download a PDF to get English instructions (Which do not tell you much at all)I spent 3 hours trying to get it to work on my PS4, It failed. The system page where you change the settings etc. Oh and it took a tiny battery 4 hours to charge.it was something like 2000mAh and took that long!!!!!To be blunt, This is the worst peice of tech ever. It's cheap and nasty. Plus in German. I got a refund after mucking around trying to get it to work for hours and Amazon just said "Here is a refund, and don't bother sending it back, Just dispose of it as you like"Well that says it all. It's absolutely crap. I even brought a prepaid SIM card with loads of data on it to use with it. Thank God I can use it in my Note 9 and turn on the hotspot there. This thing is an abomination, How it gets any sales is beyond me.1/10 , Just because you can turn it on.ZTE should be ashamed of this piece of garbage, I'm never going near a ZTE product again.PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS CR@P IF YOU NEED A MOBILE INTERNET HUB. PLUS I ALSO READ YOUR SECURITY IS AT RISK. They have been marked by the US as dodgy and a security risk, like HuaweiOh and their customer service is terrible, sent a tweet, email, and filled in a contact us form .... Got NO replies.#ZTE #ZTEMF920V #Mobilehotspot #hotspot #wifi #mifi #review #zteareterrible #web #internet #mobile #mifihotspot #customerservice #avoidzte #hub #internethub #amazon

OK NO ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS OR PLUG
First thing is all documents for use are in foreign languages only NO English. Plug is european 2 pin but OK as its a USB connection so can put it in a UK 3 pin. If you want to know how to use it you have to go online to download information.I have put a sim card in and my smart phone has connected to it but I don't have any data left on it so I'll update later on use.

Decent cost effective kit.
Great little 4G router, bought to replace a phone running as a hotspot. The signal and wifi was much more resilient, allowing my partners mother to make whatsapp video calls and watch netflix.Setup was easy once I had set the user interface to English, met with no real issues, and the router has been working consistently for a couple of weeks now during lockdown.

Cheap and cheerful
Easy to set up once I had downloaded English instructions. Internet connection is patchy, not sure if this is because of the kit or if 4G is struggling with all the extra lockdown use.

Seems pretty good!
Easy set up. We need to restart it quite often to boost the signal, but that may be the fault if the internet provider.

Works brilliantly with a EE dongle in the UK
Bought after my EE dongle gave up the ghost and they insisted that I have to send it in for repair and wait until it gets fixed... No way. As others have noted, setup is a bit finicky but nothing insurmountable. Once you’ve changed language settings and downloaded instructions in English it works smoothly. Solid and well built, with a convincing sturdy feel. A real life-saver, highly recommended.

Great little wifi
Got the product yesterday. The user manual was in German but its easy to get an English one online.Working good after a bit of configuration in the admin panel (which was also in German, but can be changed to English from a dropdown menu).Overall a good product.👌
