there's information like this for free on the Internet
We found this very helpful after moving to Colorado. Yes, there's information like this for free on the Internet, but we've made a few notes in the margins regarding how dog-friendly some of the places are and about how much parking costs. We're sure to stay busy with weekend trips for a long time!

Snow sport trails not indexed
Saw Alan Apt at a discussion on winter sport trails and this book was offered as it's his most recent book/edition. In the preface it highlights that there are 108 trails suitable for winter sports yet those trails are not listed or indexed, making it difficult to identify winter sport trails. There are two sections where this information should have been added. The first is in the front of the book, in the "Overview of Hikes" chart, with summary information regarding each hike. The second area I expected to find this information was in "Appendix 1: Best Trails For..." but again, winter sports were not mentioned. Since I bought this book primarily for winter sports I was disappointed. I will add, however, that it looks like a fantastic book for those wishing to use area trails late spring through early fall.

Great Hiking Ideas!!
This book is great. It’s like that friend who has lived on the Front Range for years and gives you great ideas. “Check out this hike” “Go to this trailhead” “Get this map”. CO is so big and this book is so helpful to find great hikes. If you’re in Fort Collins or the front range just get it.
