Pretty Great for the Price
Such a great cooker. I use it even though now out of my dorm, right next to my oven.Boils fast. Gets "over heated" very easy but if you know how to cook sped up basically it's not that bad.Living in a dorm, I made hamburger helper (including ground beef), pasta, fried chicken, fried fish, eggs, pancakes, mac and cheese, pretty much anything you can think of. If it overheats sometimes it's good to let it simmer with the top on around 150. That usually did it for me then when I needed it to pick up and fry or ultra cook, I would turn it to 200-250.Most likely if your trying to cook something on 300 and above your gonna burn it. Unless its under 5-10min.The pot is great considering you can't use any kind of pot with this cooker. If you do what your suppose to do when you sear something or burn the bottom of your pot, and clean it within 15min of cooking or soak it then nothing STICKS to this pot. I've almost burned alot of things. I believe I've made pan sausage which always stick or burns somewhat and it always comes out when I clean it.This is a great deal and I'll never throw away my cooker. It's also very easy to clean. If you have a laptop, then you should have some dust cleaner (air in a can), you can use that to clean the fan after you cook to keep the cooking steady and not getting "over heated".Not loud at all. All around good product. Would definitely recommend or buy as a gift. Easy instructions. Cooks fast.

Does what is says, hard to complain
I went for the non-programmed variant of this product. My initial though was "i never know how how the flame on my burner is so whats the difference here." Well in practice it does hold us but i think looking back i would have gone for the programmed model just for ease of use.First i will say though, this thing gets hot and it gets hot fast! I was honestly not prepared for that coming from the other conventional heating methods. I just set it to high like i usually did before and my cast iron pan was smoking in no time. The cooktop is easy to use, just place your pan or pot on it, hit the power button and then the mode button after, from there you select your power level. After figuring it out, i never had a need to go above 1200W, it honestly just got too hot to do anything useful and would overheat the plate with my cast iron skillet. If you take your pan off while cooking then you will be treated with a very loud and constant beeping to let you know you took your pan off. I could do without this feature but i get why its there, once you return it though it stops instantly. I will say, if you leave a pan on it empty for a while, it will overheat the system pretty fast. It's not much of an issue when actually cooking but it will throw an error code at you and start beeping again. The pot included is nothing fancy but it comes with a lid and it works. At least if you find yourself in a situation where your pans don't work, you will still have something to use on it.Anyway, i would go for the programmed version just so i could set temps but i don't think it makes a huge difference. The unit looks great and works as expected, it also takes up little counter space and can be stored shortly after use since it cools down quickly.

needs finer temperature and wattage control and a better way to set time
I have used this unit for a year with flawless performance. The glass top is great and very easy to clean. Like all induction units, very energy efficient. I am able to simmer a pot of past sauce using only 300 Watts! Why not 5 stars?Timer: the time control starts at 30 minutes and you can only add minutes. So, to pressure cook hard boiled eggs for 7 minutes, I have to roll it all the way up to 60 to start over. If you miss it, go all the way around the clock again...really annoying that I can not subtract one minute.Temp: The temperature regulation is sub par...My pan will periodically boil when set at 150 degrees F and controls only let user selections in 50 degree increments. 10 degree discrimination would be MUCH better if coupled with a more accurate sensor. This is the biggest reason for deduction a star.Wattage: It would be very nice to have increments of 100 W rather than 300, 500, 700, 1000, 1200, 1400 and 1800 being your only options.Overall, this is a very sturdy unit and easy to use. The pan that comes with it (which I consider to be a free bonus) is thin and flimsy. I did not expect to get a premium pan at this price, but it works to boil water, and the lid is nice.

Great bundled buy and performance.
Pan is very thin and light weight, but heats up extremely fast. Inductive cook up provides sufficient fine control for most cooking. Blinking red light in off state a bit annoying though, but no big deal. Good and safe idea for dorm living, if only the pan is smaller.

Works FAST and surface stays cool
.We'd gone through about 4 regular single cookers, cheaper but they would take several minutes to get hot and then stay hot for half an hour when turned off. The induction cooker starts the water boiling within a minute yet the surface is barely warm to the touch after you remove the pan. Seems to be very efficient, and time saving compared to the standard ones we had which failed (switch bad), one within a week. You do have to check the pot to be sure a magnet is attracted to it. Our copper bottom Revere Ware post don't work. This one came with a great large pot to cook with and our iron and other pots work great. You can cook in a power (watts) mode or temperature mode. The increments are a bit coarse, for example you can only set it to 200 degrees (just below boiling) and 250 degrees but not say 225 degrees which would be a good temperature for simmering. That said, it still works like a charm. The control panel is touch, so you might want to unplug it when not in use as it's to easy to turn on with a casual touch. On the other hand, it comes up with an error signal if there is no pot on the plate - the pot is non-magnetic, so it will not get hot if nothing is on it. Induction is a fluctuating magnetic field so some folks may have a concern.

Wife loves it
She uses it to dye yarn. Took it out of the package and started using it right away, so its easy to figure out and use. Pretty powerful for a small unit, can boil a pot of water about the same time as my electric full range stove. The price was cheap but the build and quality is not.

Good cooktop
Works fantastic, ringing happens at higher power but not terrible. The included pot is good and convenient for boiling water or soups. Gets hot fast!
