Very good. Boosts signal nicely
I have a NESDR Smartee and it powers this lovely. It adds a decent amount of extra signal strength. 20db approx. I will be experimenting by adding a 20db attenuator based on a YouTube video showing further clarity improvements to drop the noise floor while helping boost signals. But as for this product as-is, it is good and works well.

NooElec LaNA Wide-Band 20MHz – 4GHz
I have been using my SDR (Software Defined Radio) RSPdx, with a Wide-Band Moonraker Discone Aerial and JIM M-75 GaAs Low Noise Pre-Amp combo. My SDR covers frequencies between 1KHz – 2GHz, whilst the Discone and M-75 each cover, more or less the same range of 20MHz – 2GHz. This arrangement has produced good results. The M-75, with Variable Gain, is connected at the receiver end of my 15m Down-Feed RG58 Coaxial cable. Due to Signal Quality degradation through coaxial cable, it seems the Best Practice is to amplify the Aerial Signal at the Aerial end rather than the Receiver end. Because of this, I decided to try the NooElec Active Wide-Band 20MHz-4GHz LaNA (Ultra-Low Noise Pre-Amp). The Build Quality of the NooElec LaNA is Very Good as is its cosmetic appearance. As the LaNA is an Active device, it requires power, which is derived from my SDR’s software activated 5v Bias-Tee feature. Obviously, the M-75 and LaNA cannot be used together, due to the way Bias-Tee operates. However, this really doesn’t matter, as the NooElec LaNA does a really great job, boosting the Gain of Received Signals. That said, the Gain is considerably more than I expected, requiring my SDR Software Gain levels to be reduced for certain Bands such as DAB. The NooElec LaNA with SMA Male-Male coupler, with power provided by my RSPdx Aerial-B Bias-Tee, which has worked perfectly over the last 5 weeks, does what it’s supposed to do and is now a permanent feature of my SDR-Discone set-up. Although it is slightly more expensive than some other brands, I think its Build Quality and Looks, as well as the USB, DC and Bias-Tee Power options, probably justify this. For all the reason above, I really do like this Device and feel it deserves 5 Stars.

One to avoid.
It's a good amp. But, it does not power up on bias T from SDRplay RSPdx R2. Need to use powerbank or USB power adapter. EDIT... Died completely after a couple of months. Power light started to flicker then just went out. No longer amplifying.

Doesn't work on bias T power supply
It was really difficult to decide if to keep this or send it back. The spec says it should have worked with the 100ma Bias T output on my SDRPlay(1B) but it doesn't. It works fairly well on USB but due to the remote location of the PC and SDR its not ideal. You have to think carefully about how to use it but it definitely does the job. It's annoying that I can't switch it on and off remotely with the Bias T setting.

Amazing what this little device achives.
Pairing this with the Flamingo FM filter and an RTL SDR V4 with a dipole antenna, I am able to pick up ATIS from an airport almost 20 miles away with poor line of sight. Excellent and worth the money. Has adequate power using BIAS T.

Works like a charm!
Works like a charm! I have purchased cheaper versions and they were rubbish to say the least! Nooelec in my opinion are the best brand to buy for SDR Radios. Whether it be an LNA or a Dongle.

Great preamp and cool design.
This is the second one i've bought. I've used one with a little telescopic and a Flamingo+ filter and its the best, cheapest active scanner antenna there is, easily rivalling expensive name brands. The design is really cool too. Highly recommend.

Poor build quality! The SMA Pin broke immediately!
Not happy with this LNA. It didn’t appear to boost the signal too well and then the SMA connector pin became bent. I have never damaged any equipment before and I put it down to poor build quality. Maybe I was unlucky with this unit, but you may also have a poor quality control unit
