CoronaRP 3230 Rachet Hand Pruner - 3/4 inch Cut Capacity Stem and Branch Garden Shears, Red

This is my 3rd clipper purchase in about 6 weeks. The other 2 both fell apart after appr 4hrs of use each. These cut thru branches they could not. They are EZ to use. Very little pressure necessary. Time will tell how they hold up, but I am very impressed and highly recommend.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

I have issues with gripping so I bought this clipper just on a chance I could use it. So far I'm happy with it. It's very sharp and cuts cleanly. The handles aren't far apart so I can grip them with one hand but can still cut a fair sized branch or stem. All good. The only downer is in order to lock the blades you have to exert a lot of pressure to engage the locking mechanism. A lot. So 4 stars instead of 5.

Real good ratcher cutter - but be sure you place your thumb on the handle with red on it! Otherwise it sometimes pinches the loose skin between your index finger and thumb. Smarts!

It has held up well after 5 years of hard use. Been cutting branches much bigger than it is rated for. A lot better on arthritic hands. The locking mechanism is ok but could be better when using gloves.

I have an older identical pair. But this pair doesn’t ratchet so it won’t close tightly.i found my old pair so these are going in the bottom drawer I never open

They will cut through 1” branches no problem.. The ratcheting is the key to these pruners

I'm currently on my third pair, in 17 years . I have bought others no match with Corona. They have never broke. I loose them.

Awesome for pruning the finer shrubs. I used a few times on old Lilac wood but I am hard on pruners so decided to keep these for pruning roses, all younger lilac branches, anything needing accuracy and use my other pair (came free with lopers) for the big rougher work. Have grabbed a couple of times for larger branches as ratchet works so well. Might get another pair for heavy duty purposes.

I bought a pair about 30 some years ago and they broke after a lot of use. I mailed them back with my my purchase bill. They sent me a new pair which I worked them hard for years. They broke the other day. I was very hard on them cutting up to one inch branches. I have just ordered another pair. They are the best pruners I have ever had. I am a old guy now and the racket makes things easy. They are the best. Two pair in thirty years , how can you beat that. And they are so good with replacement.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I almost didn't buy these. I'm very glad that I did because, whatever they're made of, they work brilliantly well. They function as regular pruners if the branch is fairly thin and, if the branch is thick and you keep pressing the handles together, the ratchet function comes into play. I have a pair of Florian ratchet pruners and they're wonderful, yes, but they're REALLY expensive now - four times the price of these. And, for however long these Corona pruners last, they're every bit as effective. This is a fantastic deal. If you've never tried ratchet pruners, this is a very good place to start. I'm very glad I took a chance on them...!
