Russell Hobbs Dorchester Kettle, 1.7 Litre, 3000 W with 18781 2-Slice Toaster, Red

I absolutely adore this kettle. The color looks really nice, it’s very light, nor is it clunky to fill like some of the other kettles. The lid comes off easily and leaves a large enough opening so cleaning also isn’t an issue. But what I like the most about this kettle is how fast it reaches boiling point. My last kettle took close to 10 minutes on full, while this one barely takes 5.

This is a nice looking red kettle that adds to my kitchen colors. It is also a good value for money, practical and easy to use. The kettle boils in no time and is energy efficient. On the other hand, I would be happier if the lid was attached to the kettle. Each time I/my husband use it, we have to watch where the lid was put when opened. Other miner fault is that the kettle makes a lot of noise heating up. Other than that I am happy with my purchase. Thank you!

The media could not be loaded. I've wanted a British kettle for a while since they can boil water faster than American kettles. This kettle is a zippy 3kW compared to 1.5kW kettles available in the US at the same price point.It works with the 240V outlet with nothing more than a plug adapter. It's also safe to use in the US because the heating element is fully isolated from the rest of the kettle, an important feature given that US power is -120V to 120V versus 0V to 230V.As others have pointed out, the kettle is more of a reddish color than it appears in the pictures. I didn't pick up a plasticy taste, but it could be masked by the tea.It does boil room temperature water in around 45 seconds, as advertised. I don't mind the lack of an external water gauge, as I think it looks better with just the internal one. Markings of 1, 2, 3 cup and 1.7L are the only ones I'm likely to use anyway.All in all, I'd purchase this kettle again given the need. I've attached a video so that you can get a feel for how loud it is without the lid.

This kettle is fine as it stands, but. . . .! I suppose I should have taken more notice at the time of purchase, but because I've never come across this problem before I never thought to look. The kettle itself is fine and boils water fairly quickly. However, to assess the amount of water in the kettle one is required to remove the lid, there is no window to view the contents. Also a minor irritation is the fact that there is no lamp to indicate that the power is switched on. Personally, I would not buy another, and I would expect better from Russell Hobbs

Absolutely perfect

a very nice looking kettle seems to be well made and some hady things in the kettle to make sure you fill it up for 1/2/3 cups ...but how do they know what size cup you have !? .....my only reason for not giveing 5 stars is the fact that this is a rather noisy kettle !!...you can hear it upstairs in our house from the kitchen ! ....should be quiter than that this day n age !!

When I realised that the lid was detached I was going to return it. However, I’m glad I kept it - I much prefer it to others now. It has a good sized handle, looks good and is easy to clean. It does make a noise when starting to heat up - which I prefer - because it reminds me that it’s switched on. It boils quite quickly too.

Semplicemente meraviglioso. Non avevo mai pensato di comprarlo ne di averne bisogno ma su Amazon era ad un prezzo davvero invitante. Il colore è bellissimo, l'acqua bolle in un attimo poi la trasferisco in una bottiglia termica e lo lascio aperto così con il calore si asciuga da solo. Russell hobbs per me è una garanzia. Ho presso anche la centrifuga ed estetica è funzionalità sono imbattibili.
