1.5-Amp Trickle Charger 8V/12V Fully-Automatic Smart Battery Charger/Maintainer for Motorcycle, Golf Cart, Car, Lawn Mower and More

This is a great little tool for those with 8v marine batteries that need recharging or balancing. It's slow (1.5A), but it gets the job done, and has a nice auto cut-off when the battery gets to proper charge. Lots of things do this for 12v and 6v, but most don't support 8v.The connectors for it are solid, and have a quick disconnect with caps on each end. This is great if you need to pause charging quickly, cap off, and go without fiddling with the terminals. They're polarity keyed, so you can't plug it in backwards either. Good design and functionality overall.The only con I can note is that when it first starts up it starts in the last mode (12v/8v) it started in. One would expect such a simple device to be able to take a good guess as the battery type it's charging based on feedback voltage, and set itself accordingly. Since I only use this for 8v, I had to click it once to move it to that setting. From then on it started up in 8v mode and just works.

Bought this for my generator battery to make sure it’s topped up often. Easy to attach even in the tight space of my generator. Works great.

Charges very well for a small, compact charger. Simple to use.

So far so good, been using it as a battery maintainer on 12 volt lawn mower batteries. The reason for one star deduction are the clips, wish they had a better/stronger spring for more positive grip on battery terminals. Being that lawn mower batteries have the thin blade type terminals, have to move the clips around some till they make good contact with the terminals for the charger to start charging. I suspect batteries with the bigger post terminals the clips would grab on better.Incidentally, the negative reviews that the charger does not work could be because a battery has to have some charge in it for most chargers to work, if its stone cold dead, not the fault of the charger.

I bought this for my neighbor because I am tired of their golf cart sitting in my shop charging every year because the battery has depleted. They are not very tech savvy so I needed a product of good quality but easy to use. This nailed the criteria and did so at an exceptional price.

Product didn't work! I saw this response from a previous customer but I ignored it based on other responses. Can I return the product and get a different charger?
