Great buy
Bought one of these 20 years ago for about $40. The old one was top notch and made in the USA. This one is made in China and the fit/finish isn’t as nice, but I wouldn’t expect that to affect the function. The sheen on the metal is different from my old one so it may be a lower quality. Overall, still great for the price. At this price I have one in the garage, junk drawer, tackle box, bug out bag, etc.

Multi-Tool
I got this tool for my Husband for Christmas. It is not even Christmas yet and this tool has got us out of sticky problems. The oter day I broke a light bulb and the base of the light bulb was still stuck inside of the light so I got into my husband stocking and got it out, it was just what i needed ti get the job done. I have used this tool so many time and it is not even Christmas. I was worried about the quality of this item before I bought it but when I got it a was very happy with it. This item is build tough and is Very handy to have.

Not the same as US Made - but not a horror show either
I Own an original US-Made Schrade and I wanted another. I read some reviews on this one and decided to buy it just to compare them.My VISUAL comparison of the two side by side shows that Overall the finish and working of the new China Made model seems more crude.Specifically:(1) The jaws on the new one touch only at the tip. The jaws on the new Schrade meet over the whole surface area of the jaws.(2) As noted in other reviews - the new Schrade uses Torx screws in it's construction. The US-Made schrade is riveted together with heavy duty rivets.(3) The new Schrade suffers from the jaw construction. The handles do not sit as close together when the plier is exposed and the tool is in a 'closed' position.(4) The blades on the new schrade are more 'crude' than the US blades(5) The tip of the pliers on the new schrade is a little bigger than the tip on the US made schrade.[See Photos]I don't consider any of these show stoppers and the tool appears to be made with the same metal and same gauge as the original schrade.I am pretty sure for my purposes it will be 90% as good as the original, hence the 4 start. But it should be noted this is NOT the same schrade I purchased some time ago.

Number One for the Money
Great for the money. If you think your gonna put hard daily use on your muti tool you might wanna spend up to a Gerber or Leatherman. You will spend 3 times what you can get this very well designed and built Tough Tool. Perfect for my emergency bag, Bug out Bag or in house thingy to grab.I could consider this equal to the above mentioned in every way except the grade of steel being used is soft. This makes it very easy to sharpen and maintain but it will wear out with constant use.For less than 20 bucks its a must have and worth every penny. And the file on this model is better by far than most found on other tools.

BEST MULTI-TOOL ON THE MARKET!!!
Best multi-tool on the market. I've bought several of these and keep them in each car and a few around the house. I carried one in the army for almost a decade, and it still looks as good as new. Don't let the price fool you, this tool outperforms the leatherman, the gerber, and anything by the Swiss (no offense intended). It is actually a real set of pliers, the knife stays sharp, and it always has the right auger or driver to fix the job without having to run out to the toolbox.

Don't think you'll be getting a bargain Leatherman
I bought this to abandon in Mexico. I check my bags going down and carry on coming home because of liquids that I have to pack down and connections to make returning. This is quite crude, but then again costs about a 5th of the cost of a comparable Leatherman. The handles seem lightly made. The third blade in on both handles hangs when you close it. But it is under $20.I've carried a Leatherman Wave for years. It is the best travel tool there is. This one, not so much. But, it will be useful I'm sure. I've bought and abandoned a number of multitools over the years because of carry on restrictions. This ranks right up with the no name ones you can get at the mini mart or bargain sporting goods stores. Maybe just a little better and about the same price.

I have bought 3 pairs now.
I have put one pair in my car , my B.O.B. and my hiking pack. And I still have enough left over to buy one for my belt . Boy oh Boy am I glad I didn't fall for the name game pair , the Big "L" , I have always loved Schrade products , My Bowie is a Schrade and I have had it for over 20 years. These muti tools are a steal for the money . Anyone who has ever owned an Old Hickory ,Schrade, Old Timer knows , they are value for the money. this tool is no different !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing like the original product
I had the original Schrade Tough Multitool, it had been with me for at least 12 years, I used it and abused it and it was still in great shape. I can say it was my favorite multi-tool. Sadly though it got misplaced so I needed a new one. I knew the Schrade company went out of business and sold their name to another company but I saw the picture and was hopeful it'd be the same tool, it is not. It's not the worst, but compared to the original this one is not great quality. Some of the differences, of the "new" version:* The needle nose plier handles close slightly crooked.* The needle nose teeth do not close fully flush like the original did.* The needle nose plier handles don't lock into position when opened all the way like the original one did.* The type of hinge used on the needle nose head/needle nose handles/various tool pivots are a different type and they don't open as smoothly as the original did. I used to be able to swing the pliers around and open it like a switch blade for quick one handed access.* The saw and the metal file don't look like they were finished like the other tools, they have a rough surface.* You can see some spots left from casting some of the parts from molds. The main reason for this review is due to the long period of time that I used the original product and due to my already set expectations of quality.
