S.O.S. Rations Emergency 3600 Calorie Food Bar - 3 Day / 72 Hour Package with 5 Year Shelf Life- 10 PK

I purchased these over 5 years ago and just recently replaced my stock of them. When I first received them I purchased several other brands, all 3 day emergency rations. I did a blind taste test with 4 people of different age groups. All of them, including myself, picked these for taste and consistency. I've even taken these on camping trips and eaten them as snacks, just for fun.Highly recommended for emergency rations and for camping or other outdoor activities. I have one of these packs in each of my camping backpacks, bug out bags, and get home bags.

This food bar is tasty enough to be in danger of being eaten before its time. It is easy to eat without anything gooey or highly chewy and they have a good texture. It should hold up in hotter weather without opening it up to have a gooey mess as they are on the dry side of things. They seem like a good bar to have in one's car but not sure how well they would hold up to higher temperatures in terms of years of time packed away in a car trunk. In any case, there is no need to be that concerned for eating these when their time comes near and then replacing them, as they are a good snack. I did have one package lose its vacuum seal and this is the only one I consumed. I have been giving them an additional vacuum seal in a clear bag when they are going to be bouncing about in a bag when traveling. Another option could be to just wrap each one in a hand towel to reduce any chance of the package being damaged.

decent tasting bar, fairly heavy..only reason for the 3 star rating is they cheaped out on the packaging as the individual bars in the brick (9 bars per brick = 3days per brick) were NOT individually wrapped as others have stated...this means once a brick is open you'll need to eat all 9 bars in a short time frame...it also means there is no secondary protection so if you get a pinhole in the white outer brick package you are Sol. this could be because of demand due to the pandemic but its still unacceptable for something you may be relying on to save your life one day.

This product arrived in perfect condition. The vacuum seal was intact. We bought this to store in our winter time emergency kit, so we haven't opened it yet, but we chose it due to the overwhelmingly good reviews. S.O.S. seems like a highly recommended brand among all the products out there. Next spring we are gonna crack this open (unless we need it sooner of course) and give them a taste test. Will update this review at that time.

Very well made packaging and easy to eat, tastes somewhat like a semi sweet butter shortbread cookie.

My family opened a pack in the aftermath of hurricane Irma (more out of curiosity than necessity) and were pleasantly surprised with the taste and moisture content. With the widespread damage and prolonged power outages, there were no open grocery stores for days. It was good to know we had an additional several days supply of non-perishable food on hand.

Product is as advertised. It eats well without water and contains coconut. These bars have the consistency of a thick pie shell but taste sweeter like a cookie. I don't usually trust mylar packaging, but the outer package is so thick and durable you could put this food in your car trunk, on a boat, or bury it in the ground and it would still be good years from now.
