Works great to get a good smash burger or to hold bacon down to help keep flattened. Would definitely recommend. Very sturdy

This is a great hamburger press for the price. This is super heavy duty and works great, it’s also cast iron so it’s great quality. This changed our hamburger game on the black stone. Just make sure to spray a bit before and to not leave in water as it will rust. I always just make sure to rub with a little oil after cleaning it for when it’s not in use. No reason to buy black stone brand for double the money this works just fine.

We use this a lot. Absolutely no complaints. Handy. Works like a charm.

I usually look for Lodge or "Made in USA" brands of cast iron because their chances of rusting quickly are less, with oiled care. But Lodge's round press was too large--I wanted one that would fit flat into my Calphalon stove-top pan for single burger or sausage cooking. Patties can puff up in the middle and then only the edges get (burnt). The press weight is to keep that from happening, not for "smashing." Found this one at 7" round which just fits. Since it just arrived yesterday I haven't had time to try it for rust-ability. I know the weight will work well. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the handle is wood AND came right out of the box with a busted edge. In the photos included, you can see the design is weak in that the wood edges hang out past the cast iron seat and this alone is what makes the design very prone to breakage. First photo left to right shows how the handle should look; photos 2-3 show the busted edge on one side. However, I'm not returning or asking for a new one because the design will not have changed and doesn't bother me anyway, for stove-top use. This was the only one I could find at 7" round, there doesn't seem to be anything smaller out there.

I tried the Lodge rectangle grill press. Despite Lodge being a good name brand actually known for making cast iron finished products, it was a flop. The rectangle size was illogical, you have to assemble it which is ridiculous and unreliable and the spring grip is terrible. But the firm wood grip on this press is very sturdy and the wood material doesnt absorb the heat at all. So you get really good control on the press. Plus the weight of the press is excellent, much heavier than the Lodge rectangle press. This press can put the squeeze on even fresh chicken breast without pressing. Which is much more stiff than ground beef. You get very good presses that cover a rather wide area but not too wide to not fit over a small pan. Considering this is by "Jim Beam", a brand more commonly known for liqour; this is surprising.

Pretty simple tool eh? Big ol' piece of iron with a comfy wooden handle. Hard to go wrong. I will say one of my favorite things is the grooves on the press. I don't always griddle smashburgers, some folks in my family like their burgers a bit thicker and juicier so I've come to dig the grooves on the press replicating the crosshatched pattern of a well-grilled burger (over traditional fire). Haven't had any issues (but you do want to be certain to wash it soon after use) and it's an easy tool to recommend.

It’s exactly what I needed/expected. Good weight, non stick, good quality cast iron. I read a few reviews complaining about the handle being chipped or cracked. Mine came in with a slight nick on the edge of the wood but I got it for function, not looks. Works great even if it’s not “perfect”.

I worked at a restaurant during my teen years. I recalled that one of my restaurant employers had a few of these presses. I've always wanted to buy one. I finally did through Amazon. It's great! When cooking streaks of any kind, it does wonders. It makes the meat cook evenly. All I have to control is the timing (duration of cooking) to control the level of cooking. I can do a consistent rare steak with it. It's all in the timing! It's also great for cooking beacon to avoid the beacon curl up on me. I recommend it!

El artículo es tal como se describe. Un peso para asar carnes o pescados, que permite mantener el producto en su sitio y ayuda bastante en la elaboración, consiguiendo incluso que se prepare antes los alimentos. En mi caso particular lo he devuelto sin usar, porque no cumple con mis necesidades (más peso).
