Best Customer Service around
I ordered my UtechSmart 4000 DPI mouse a couple weeks back, and with 1-day shipping had received it in less than 24 hours. I chose the UtechSmart mouse over quite a few other options for a few reasons - the company had excellent reviews as far as customer service was concerned, the mouse offered all of the features I was looking for, and it's a great looking mouse.First, a little bit of background...The mouse came in a really nice looking box detailing its features and included a pass-through window to view the product inside - nice touch! Inside I found the mouse, a user manual, and a mini-CD with the installation software. But here's where things got tricky. The mouse installed correctly, or at least it was functional. However, the software couldn't communicate with the mouse to make use of the DPI/Color settings that it advertised. I messed around for a couple days trying various forms of installation and compatibility modes but no luck. After giving up, I contacted the UtechSmart customer service department and had a prompt response the next day. Without giving me the run-around about things I should try, they informed me that they had directed the issue to their engineering department who makes their chips and processors. A day later, they couldn't figure out what the issue was either. This is where UtechSmart really stands out as an honest company - when in the 2 days they couldn't figure out what was wrong, they promptly sent out a brand new mouse for me to try, no questions asked. It arrived a day later and I am delighted to report that the new mouse/software combo worked perfectly and I was up and running within minutes. I was truly impressed with their customer service. So now with a functional mouse and software, the review can continue!Aesthetics:This was a big selling point for me. The mouse looks fantastic! It comes in a matte black finish that has a light texture to it. The exposed matte white becomes lit when the light functions are enabled. It just looks good, no getting around it. Top that off with the braided cord and you won't find a nicer looking mouse for this price.Functions:The mouse has 6 programmable buttons and also supports keyboard macros for more complex button combinations. They are the left and right click buttons, the center wheel click, the DPI button right behind the center wheel, and a button on either side of the mouse. I have average sized hands and the two side buttons land perfectly beneath my thumb and ring finger respectively. The mouse wheel also has a rubberized coating on it, making it very easy to scroll precisely.Software:The software was a little clumsy to navigate at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty straightforward. You have 4 different default DPI profiles, each one corresponds with a color. The backwards part is that you change the DPI for the color, versus the other way around. That is to say, pressing the DPI button cycles through the same order of 4 colors (red, violet, green and blue), but you can assign whatever DPI setting to whatever color you so please. You also have the option to adjust the pulse speed of the light, or you can choose to turn the lights off completely. The software also allows you to create and save profiles specific to different PC games, attaching a profile to your game's .EXE file so that the profile is automatically loaded when you start the game – great feature for gamers who play multiple games. Other than that, you have all of your basic mouse settings including double click speed, polling rate and clicker visibility.Overview:After using the dud mouse for a week and now the replacement, I couldn't be happier. The mouse feels great in your hand, it works perfectly and looks great doing it. The only con I can think of would be the software, but for the price, I've got no complaints. The company stands by their products with an 18 month warranty, and offers great loyalty rewards programs. I would highly recommend this product for someone looking for an entry-level gaming mouse as it easily keeps up with competitors of the same and higher price ranges.

Okay working, "Aesthetic menu" unavailable
It works as it should but my standards were set way too high for this product to even get 3 stars. Yes it's a mouse, yes it does what it is supposed to but this is the most dissapointing item I have yet to purchase, spending over a couple of hours infuriatingly trying to get the supposedly "Aesthetic Customization Menu" to work on Windows 7 x64 bit and it failing every single time that I tried I ended up giving up and realizing I won't change DPI/CPI, I won't change colours, and I most certainly won't use the macros they advertise on the box, I went onto the website and tried downloading the setup from there as well to find out it's the same setup and I still cannot change any settings on this mouse what so ever. Extremely high quality looking but honestly infuriating on the menuTL;DR If you want a mouse you can change DPI's on this isn't the mouse.

Good looks, good hardware.
It's an overall decent mouse, the hardware is well-enough made and the 4k DPI is great. I've been using this mouse for about half of a year and it is very comfertable. The lights are a bit annoying though as they never turn off unless you unplug them or turn your computer off. The little nooks and crannies are a great place for dirt and grim, so I find that I have to get a toothpick and dig at it to clean it up well. The software it comes with is lacking in quality but it still works enough to get it to your liking. The cable is of great quality and long enough that I can sit on my couch and play.Overall this is a nice mouse and I would recommend it when it's on sale.

***** Review
Personally, I'm a MAJOR gamer. As in, I get in a good 6 hours in a day AT LEAST, and after a good while of having these, I can say, without a doubt, IM IN LOVE. After a good week of breaking them in and personalizing them, they work with no problems! If there was one problem I could say I find about these, its that the driver for these REALLY need some work. If your buying it expecting high quality macros needs, then list to this bit: They macros seem to need to literally have the computer restart for them to save onto the driver... and that goes for nearly every setting including the DPI settings and colors. The macros are OK but if you want a high click counter macros then you need to know that it really doesnt go fast for clicking. The typing is ok and you can adjust the timing, but its not as good as Microsoft's macros where you can get things down to seriously 10 MICRO seconds... these need you to have a "Click down" and then a "Click up" so its not worth it in that sense. but that is LITERALLY my only problem with it!So PROS:Amazing looks and feel in your hands6 buttons (the two others are on the left and right where the thumb and ring finger rest)Customizable controls for those gamers who want to have a button on the left and right do various things like interact for you, or in my case, activate the push to talk in most games i playgood quality all around, and amazing for the price!Cons:The drivers arnt very user friendly... and take a lot of finicking aroundthe macros are needing some serious lovingim not a HUGE fan of the scroll wheel... but thats probably personal opinion, you can and probably should ignore this bitId recommend it!!!

Best budget gaming mouse EVER!
I bought this mouse as a replacement mouse for the one my son had broken. I wanted something relatively cheap, because an eight-year-old boy is going to break a mouse or two, right?!After setting it up, installing the drivers, and UI, I was pleasantly suprised by how very well appointed the customisation UI is!You can set macros.Change the speed of the breathing LEDs(or solid on/off) and color of the LEDs on the mouse. The mouse function itself is very accurate, and much to my surprise, weighted very nicely!I could not be happier with this purchase !!I will continue to recommend, as I've already influanced a couple friends to purchase as a spare/back up.

Totalmente recomendable

if you want a cool mouse with high quality, get this. Its fab m8
This is my first none HP or logitec mouse i bought and more "gaming" related. Doing some research i thought there is no point in jumping straight into the deep end and buying the £70 worth mouse's. Settling with this one and seeing it was also on a discount i thought, hey why not, have to start somewhere.Normally paying for cheap products "you get what you pay for". I haven't had many gaming mouse experience so this comment here is from a so called 'noob'. BUT my experience with this mouse has been fantastic. People doubt how much i got it for since when they use they also love it. Changing the DPI (the speed at which the mouse travels at on the screen) is with a simple click behind the middle wheel. You can customise the buttons to suit your own key bindings and best of all it glows cool colours ;) (these can also me customised) It also contacts different surfaces very well but for the best use get a mat.The product has all the normal mouse buttons, left right click and middle wheel with that also a button when pressed down. As well as two more addition buttons on the left and right side for thumb and ring or pinky finger depending on how you hold the mouse. Its not definite to left or right hand users, i predominately use it for my right hand and on my wild days i use my left and dont feel its only a right handed mouse. Please dont interpret this comment by saying "it's as good as the £70 mouse's" cuz im not. Im just not that fortunate to have that kind of money and on a budget its really good in my experience! :)

Consigliatissimo.
