It’s only the second time I’ve bought the mustard seed powder! The first time was from a different company. They were all out so I ordered this one, Starwest! The Starwest brand is far more flavorful & stronger! I will start using this brand as long as the quality continues!

It's too expensive to buy mustard seed powder in little spice bottles. This bulk powder is an affordable alternative.Cruciferous vegetables provide many health benefits from the sulphoraphane they generate. However, this is only produced when the glucoraphanin is combined with the enzyme myrosinase. Both glucoraphanin and myrosinase are contained in cruciferous vegetables and they come into contact during chopping or chewing BUT the heat from cooking will destroy the myrosinase enzyme (but not the glucoraphanin). So one solution is to sprinkle a little mustard seed powder (which contains myrosinase) over your cooked vegetables.

Sometimes there is color variation, but other than that, this is a very consistent product. I use it in my commercial kitchen.

The powder we received was yellow and labeled as mustard seed powder, but it tasted soapy. My husband described it as "dirty sock". It's hard to describe, but it also has a bit of a dried pea flavor to it. We normally enjoy products from this brand, but will not be purchasing again.

Good quality mustard powder that is spicier and hotter than expected. I had to adjust my mustard recipe due to the hotter than expected powder. Lower quality powders that I have purchased in the past were over mild compared to Starwest Botanicals. I suspect that this mustard powder is fresher than others I have purchased and thus the spicier and hotter flavor.

Organic mustard with Excellent flavor! Will buy again. Also, Starwest Botanicals is a top notch company - friendly and professional customer service!
