I was hoping these came with some instructions. how do i use these to remove small c-clips? i don't understand how this tool helps with that.

Right, no instructions... basically you pick the tool that is one size smaller than the C-clip. Using that tool, you push on the C-clip to pop it out by facing the “C” of the e-clip to the “C” of the tool. So it would look like a “C” facing a backwards “C”.

The sizes mentioned (1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 mm) are inner or outer diameter of e-clips ?

Inner,the tool got me out of a jamb,I was unable to get the ex clip back on my chainsaw after I removed it,this tool made it easy.

Useful for taking e-clips or c-clips off and on fishing reels.

I clean and maintain my own fishing reels, baitcasting and spincasting reels. The baitcasting reels especially use quite a few e-clips. This tool is very useful in removing and installing them. I do recommend this tool.

Does not work for 1.5mm e-clips

I got this tool in order to remove and install 1.5mm e-clips on my RC car. The 1.5mm tool is too large and the e-clip is not held at all, making it all but impossible to install.
