Nice size - get a power adaptor
This is a nice, portable size and works well. I got a power adaptor to go with it since I do not want to be worrying about batteries. The light quality seems very good. To avoid glare, and since I will be viewing just one slide at a time (with a magnifying lens), I cut out a slide sized opening in a piece of cardboard that I put on top of this panel when using.

A very bright, small light box
A great little light box. VERY bright. I use it for viewing and sorting slides and photo negatives. The size is such that you can’t fit a ton of slides on it at once, but you can actually hold up a slide above it and see the image (!) which helps with sorting. That’s how bright it is. Comes with a black leather-esque pouch which is nice, and takes 6 AAA batteries (not included). The only puzzling aspect is that the manual says to remove the batteries when not in use, but they fit in the pouch, so no problem. There is an on/off switch as well, on the side. I don’t know how long the batteries last, but sorting through a few hundred slides I’m still on my first set. A good value for the money, especially if you don’t need a giant surface.

Works. Bright. Perhaps Overpriced.
It's bright. It works. You will need batteries and have to replace often bc it dims pretty quickly, and no AC adapter is included. I am happy to be able to view slides from my 95 yr old father's life, but am wishing I had shopped around and taken the time to do comparative shopping. Did I fall for higher price=best item? If you do your research before purchasing, you may find this item is best, or you may find that another is a better value.

Seems very well made, works perfectly for its intended purpose
Although the case is plastic, this light panel doesn't seem cheap or flimsy at all. It's got a good heavy feel to it.The light is very bright and even and is perfect for viewing slides and negatives while working on my scanning project. The storage case is also decent.I expect to get many years of use out of this light panel.

Very consistent light output, with beautiful white balance and CRI index.
This has been working great for digitally copying my slides.. I have found the digital images to require very little software processing. I am using as light source for a copy stand I designed. Copying and processing is going much faster than with the various scanners I have used, and with much lower cost. I can copy side formats from 35mm up to 4X5.

Not impressed
Very flimsy and not enough brightness to help us look at our negatives ! Returned it !

Bright useful device (note transparency viewing tip)
This is a VERY bright little light panel. Terrific for viewing my 4x5 transparencies. But I'm also using it in combination with my iPhone for viewing several negatives at a time. If you want to turn your iphone into a device for viewing negatives, go to Settings: Accessibility:General: Accessibility Shortcut: Classic Invert Colors. You can then hit the home button three times and your screen images will be inverted. Hit the button three times again and it your screen will return to normal. You can then use your zoom feature to get a closer look.
