I have found tech support tedious at best
I purchased this unit to extend WI Fi coverage between two houses about 90 feet apart. The unit works very well when it works, but it seems to randomly just stop sending out a signal and must be rebooted in order to make it start working again. If it were not for this problem, I would give it 5 stars. I have found tech support tedious at best, so I am going to try another unit to determine whether I just received a bad unit or if this is the performance one can expect from these units. I can understand the need for a reboot occasionally, but having to reboot once or twice a week is not acceptable in my opinion.

I can highly recommend this product
Produce arrived as described, near new used unit. Box did not have clear warp but product had no exterior damage and worked like new. All parts were included in the box, except the desk stand which was not an issue for me because I mounted the repeater outside on the side of my barn. The unit has been up and functioning like new for two weeks now. I am very pleased with the performance and the setup configuration was relatively easy. I submitted one question via email to Amped tech support and promptly received a reply and answer to my question, which inquired about the use and function of an extra antenna with the unit. I did not need the extra antenna. I use the repeater to receive a Wi-Fi signal from an apple airport router in the attic of my house about 200 feet away (only 40% at barn exterior) to generate a signal inside a metal barn. I was able to additionally improve the signal inside by attaching a range max router to the Ethernet cable from the exterior mounted repeater and rebroadcasting the signal on the inside of the metal barn exterior. Using this approach, I now have gone from no reception inside the barn to 4bars Wi-Fi. I can highly recommend this product for increasing Wi-Fi reception in outbuildings nearby the building (house) with the primary Wi-Fi router. Also, I now have excellent coverage outside around the barn and home dwellings.

Laughable marketing. + Unreliable connection. = Amped Wireless
***********UPDATE***********I figured I'd give it another try and spoke with support after trying multiple times to establish a solid/reliable/consistent/persistent connection. These products are poorly marketed as something they are not. At 600-700 ft you might have a decent signal strength but forget about having a connection speed worth using. At the supposed 1.5 mile range they are claiming I'm going to assume that the connection speed would be less than a 56k dial-up modem. Amped Wireless should be sued for false advertising. If you look at all of their marketing material(s) including the product boxes they show a minimal product setup over the 1.5 mile range. None of their provided documentation outlines the number of products that must be purchased in order for this to work. Also for anyone thinking of having any usable speed you'll likely be faced with approx. 30% of your original speed at a distance of 600-700 ft. Beyond that distance you're better off using your cell phone as a mobile hotspot.STAY FAR AWAY from all of their products or else be faced with disappointment.****************************Laughable and outlandish marketing claims of an extended wireless network up to 1.5 miles.I took a chance and went all in which included buying the AP600EX + A8EX (external antenna) to be used with SR600EX + AD14EX (external antenna). I then purchased an additional SR600EX + AD14EX which would be used approximately 600-700ft away to fully extend my wireless range. After spending countless hours with setup, upgrading firmware, applying the external antenna, and antenna adjustments I decided that it was nothing more than false advertising.I would typically find a signal strength of between 79-91% which is well within their recommended range but I could never get a consistent/persistent connection. It would disconnect/connect every minute or less. When it did connect, for a full minute, it worked well, however, that was a rarity. The setup had minor obstructions from a few bushes but I made sure that line of sight was optimal. The building was approximately 600-700ft and I used an open window to line up the external antenna with only a window screen as a potential obstruction. So essentially each SR600EX + AD14EX setup should be able to cover half of the distance needed. Unfortunately, poorly designed inferior products are nothing more than paper weights.Sadly they will continue to claim 1.5 mile range but what they don't tell consumers that if you want to actually USE your wireless connection at an extended range it would require a setup of SR600EX + AD14EX connection every 50 FT without obstruction.

Requires wired connection to PC in order to set it up.
This is the second one I've owned after the first, which was out in the hot sun for over ten years first turned yellow and then later the plastic began to actually fall apart. The reason it was replaced, though was that a couple weeks ago it suddenly started becoming intermittent in the WiFi it was sending out.One thing I had forgotten after the first one is that it not only takes a PC to set it up but it is also very specific as to browser type needed. For some unknown reason, it seems to defer to the browsers that do not fully follow the Internet protocols, such as Internet Explorer, Safari or Chrome while I run only Linux and use the more standard Firefox. While the setup itself isn't difficult, I had to borrow a Windows laptop to do it as I live 600 miles away from where I'm using it and have no PC there myself. On other similar devices, I am able to connect to them via WiFi in order to set them up but not this one! I could reach its user interface from my iPad but it would immediately disappear before I was able to do anything.Bottom line is that the product works well even in my situation where the router is about 100 feet away on the other side of a house and I am not using a pair of these which I know would work better but it does work well enough. I do wish, however, that the user interface would support more standard browsers (I don't mean popular ones but rather those that are actually standard such as Firefox) and that the set up could be done via WiFi alone without the need of a PC. For its price, some inconveniences are expected and even somewhat acceptable but these are not.
