The Simpsons Cartoon Studio

The Simpson's Cartoon Studio is a game of which I have many nostalgic memories. It's fun and inventive, while being easy and simple.I imagine that many people will play this game and immediately grow tired of it, thinking that it's just too dry and basic. If you're a director of any kind, yes, this doesn't compare to programs like After Effects etc. ^_^BUT although it may seem plain, the Simpson's Cartoon Studio is actually anything but. If you really take the time to explore it and work with it, there are LOADS of things you can do. You just have to be willing to use your imagination and have fun experimenting. I would even say that through thinking about how to well-edit things at a basic level with this game, it has made me more insightful and inventive with the big progams. It's a great learning tool for those young editors out there.One thing you might really need for this game is an optical mouse. Most people have one, but due to the game's 'drag-and drop' style of animating, a ball mouse will just end up frustrating you. It just makes things smoother and funner with this game.The only other area where this game could use a bit more refining is with the voice-over clips. You can dub-in dialog from all the included characters, but alot of the time a character will be short-changed, or will simply be missing that 'perfect line'.But other than these problems I've always loved this game.I'm running vista and XP and had no problem installing it on either. Now XP is a sure thing, but always be cautious with Vista.Hope this helps.
