Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2 with Dance Mat - Nintendo Wii

I have purchased several "active" wii games to go along with more traditional exercising. I like to do different things on different days so as to not get bored and have EA Active (love it) Gold's Cardio (love it) My Fitness Coach (hate it) Wii Fit (love it) Outdoor Sports (like it) Wii Sports (love it) and Wii Sports Resort (like it). I have wanted to buy a DDR to kick the exercise up a notch and when Amazon had it on a Gold Box I was so happy I bought one and another for a gift. It arrived today and I have played it for at least 1-1.5 hours totay and I LOVE it! I am in my upper 40's and have 60 pounds to lose and this is a great program to add to my "wii fitness" regiment. Even on the very easiest programs it is challenging and after a few songs I start getting pretty sweaty! The last time I had my young'uns to Chuck E Cheese there were a couple of teenagers doing the DDR machine there and they were awesome. I plan to dance and dance and dance my a$$ off and next time I go there I hope to have lost all my weight and get on the DDR machine there and put on a show of my own, ha! The songs are ok, but even the ones I don't know or really like that much don't bother me because I just think the "dancing" keeps me entertained. The mat works really well, very responsive, the game is easy to use, I highly recommend this as a very fun game!

I purchased this on a whim and just hoped that I would like it. When I took it out of the box and started using it, I LOVED IT! Of course, I'm not very coordinated, so that adds a little extra challenge. The only thing I wish I would have realized was that you can't stand on the mat while you are making choices on the screen. I thought I broke the remote because the choices were whizzing by...I had my foot on the right arrow on the mat... Lots of fun and a great workout!

I bought this game believing I was on an Australian site and purchased the product with the knowledge that it would work in Australia, however it came from the USA which uses a different format NTSC. I was at no point during my purchase informed either via the web page or the seller that this product would not work in Australia, and subsequently was refused a refund or credit...I have been totally ripped off by Amazon. I and all of my friends/relatives will never purchase anything ever from Amazon ever again. YOU NEED TO LOOK AT YOUR GLOBAL PRODUCT MARKETING AND MAKE FUTURE CUSTOMER AWARE OF THE PURCHASES THEY MAY MAKE FROM COUNTRY TO COUNTRY!!!! VERY DISSAPOINTING!!!

It needs to come with instructions. I wanted this for working out and at first, I could not figure out how to get it to play songs continuously in work out mode. I needed to set songs in course music and not go into free music mode. You need to take the first lesson in groove arena to unlock some stuff even though the lesson only teaches you to step on the up arrow when you see an up arrow on the screen.I don't like how it only has pieces of the songs instead of the whole song.I use the dance pad on a rug. It slips a lot but has held up well over the last month of use.I like using it and I think keeps workouts interesting. I think it was worth the $67 I paid for it.There are gimmicks turned on by default but I turned them off because they were too distracting for me. This is my first ddr game purchase so there was a lot I needed to learn and get used to. The games also end early if you do a bad job and lose lots of points. That can be turned off so it plays to the end of the song.

Just remember that it will take a little time (less than what I've read from other posters, though) to get used to placing your feet. Even that is fun, though. I have 1 injured knee and had to turn off the jumping so I could continue to play. The hand device is very useful to help with hand/foot coordination. Instead of watching a movie, we play this game and really enjoy it! The mat stays where it's supposed to stay and appears to be of high quality.We did discover that no other mat seems to work with this, after calling multiple stores and asking. So, don't go running out to buy a 2nd cheaper mat, it won't work. We'll just buy the mat that goes with this, if we decide to dance two-at-a-time and need the 2nd mat, as it's a good quality mat and apparently the only one that will work.

I bought this game because it's gotten great reviews, and I wanted something fun that keeps me active, and is fun to play with others. Unfortunately they included some actual music videos in it that are very offensive to me. I want to be able to play all my games with my grandchildren, and I don't want to subject them to that imagery. And you can't simply stop the game if a video comes on and go to another song. You have to turn off the Wii to stop it.If you're concerned about what your childrens' eyes see, this is definitely not the game for you.I'm in the process of trying to contact Konami to see if they will exchange this game for their new Disney version. So far I can't get anyone to answer the phone, but will keep trying. I'll update this post if I'm successful.

The kids have been playing this constantly since they received it for Christmas. They've had a blast trying to increase their expertise level and speed. I love that they are getting a good workout and are actually a little sore the next day, just as they would be after a workout at the gym. It's been a success - I'll look into getting a 2nd mat to take it to the next level of two playing/competing against each other. I'm sure it will be a great activity for when the kids have weekend sleepovers.
