Finally died after 7 years
Honestly I should have replaced this as a precaution 2 years ago but it was sure to let me know when it stopped working with 3 beeps and an error message. Time to retire it for a new one! I only had to change the batteries maybe 4 times over the past 7 years. It stayed plugged in and hung on the wall about waist high. Changing batteries and testing it periodically was super easy. It was VERY loud, I could hear it from anywhere on my main floor. Did have one instance where we panicked bc it went off only to realize one of the kids leaned something against the device and it compressed the test button (which has to be pressed and held for more than 3 seconds so this was like a freak incident where it was perfectly leaning against it lol). All in all, great quality. Pretty sure if it failed I'd be dead, so there's that. Gonna buy a replacement now 7 years later and finally write the review for this first purchase back in 2018 lol

Depsite the old school interface, this potentially saved my life
I was overseeing contractors doing stuff in my house and outside the house they had a gas engine. There were air purifiers inside my house causing negative air pressure and sucking in the CO while I almost fell asleep. This loud alarm caused me to evacuate my house. Works great.

Safety First!
The First Alert Carbon Monoxide Detector (CO615) is an outstanding safety device that gives us peace of mind. The plug-in design with a battery backup is perfect for uninterrupted protection, even during power outages. The backlit digital display is easy to read, showing clear CO levels at a glance, even in low light. Setup was simple—just plug it in, and it’s ready to go. The alarm is loud and attention-grabbing, ensuring you’ll hear it in an emergency. Knowing we’re protected by a reliable brand like First Alert makes this an essential addition to our home. Highly recommend for anyone prioritizing safety!

Decent product
Decent product. Consumer reports says this model detects carbon monoxide with an excellent rating. It plugs in and does not need any further stabilization beyond that. It comes with 2 AA batteries that are easily installed. There is a difficult to see green light that shows you the product is working. I had to unplug it a couple of times to convince myself it was on. If you press the button on the right you are shown a blue screen with the current carbon monoxide level which should read 0. The button on the left is a silence/ test button. I thought it always displayed CO level. It does not or I would have given it 5 stars.

Looks Good
Looks well made and easy to install. Since I don't have a leak, don't know how it's going to work, but had good reviews.
