In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul. Review: Good shoe - First and foremost: This is a neutrally cushioned shoe for underpronaters or people without pronation issues. Don't buy it if you normally purchase a stability shoe, or if your feet roll inward a bit while you run. It will feel awful and you will be sad. Due to an injury, I underpronate pretty severely on one foot, and have no issues with the other. As a result, the Gel-Nimbus series has always been very comfortable for me, and corrects my stride. The cushioning really keeps my foot from hurting after a lot of walking or standing, and allows me to run even though I have some arthritis in the foot I injured. I do miss the off-center lacing that previous Nimbus models had, but overall I've found this shoe to be of the same quality of the previous Nimbus models. I can take them out of the box, lace them up, and go running. No need to break them in or fiddle with the insoles. This is the first time I've bought the women's Gel-Nimbus, as I have very large feet for a girl (women's 10.5 or 11), and normally buy men's shoes because they have larger toe boxes (I have long monkey toes and can like, pick stuff up and use my feet kinda like a monkey...lol). Normally I can't find a women's shoe in the size I need in an actual store, and even online places run out. However, I lucked out this time and was able to get these super cute hot pink shoes in my size. :D I'm thrilled with the color. It's even more pink (the picture makes it look a little fuschia...trust me they're hot pink) in person and it matches my work out clothes. It's super exciting to finally be able to get a Gel-Nimbus in a cute color! Review: ASICS Nimbus does it again - When my last (and first) pair of ASICS Nimbus started to age it was a no brainer to try this newer version, and I could not be more pleased. I have a narrow foot with a high arch, and in the last two years have had to resort to "Comfort" brands to avoid foot pain. After a workday in dress shoes I need a good sneaker to head out for an hour of fast walking, my fav cardio; also, want a sneaker for weekends that looks at least okay and feels great. This ASICS GEl Nimbus, although pricey, gives me exactly what I need. This newest version looks a bit slimmer on the outside, which I love, but still feels very comfortable on the inside, plus it is available in NARROW sizing. A friend who is a regular B width says that regular width in this style also fits her great. Have no idea why this particular shoe construction works so well, but it just feels right, you forget you're wearing shoes at all, and no fatigue or aches or pains. I do wish ASICS would do a Nimbus in black or grey for those of us who prefer our sneaks to not make a vivid color statement - but as long as they keep this construction I'll keep buying.

ASICS Nimbus does it again
When my last (and first) pair of ASICS Nimbus started to age it was a no brainer to try this newer version, and I could not be more pleased. Comfort meets performance!
I have been wearing the Gel Nimbus for years. They are extremely comfortable. I have several pairs. I work in the operating room and stand A LOT on hard floors, and these shoes really make a difference on my feet and back. I have dedicated pairs for the OR, but I also have a pair I use for walking and jogging at home. I have the Gel Noosa also, and like them as well. The Gel Nimbus are heavier and have more cushion than the Noosa, so if you're not a competitive runner(I am not, but my husband is), and/ or if you are a heavier person they are perfect!! I think they fit a little narrow in the forefoot, compared to the heel, and when I wear mine out I always wear a hole in the back of the heel. Overall I love these shoes. Worth the price! I keep coming back.

definitely lots of cushion...
If it is possible to have too much cushion in a running shoe, that was my experience with these. Improved when I removed the Asics inserts and replaced with Super Feet rigid insoles. I have a neutral stride, mid-foot strike and felt a little like a baby giraffe running very uncoordinated at first with these. Eventually became more used to them but they are just a bit too springy for me. Prefer the Cumulus. Loved the Gel neo33 but needed a bit more cushion for chronic back pain from an old injury on pavement short runs (5K). Can't speak to longer runs since they don't agree with me. I use these for many different vigorous, high impact activities and they are fine, maybe just a bit too roomy in the toe box and a hint too wide in the heel. True to size for running shoes and my feet are narrower than average. My toes occasionally feel strange in these shoes but I haven't any idea why. Laces do no come untied like my silly Brooks.

AMAZING!!!
These shoes are PERFECT for runners who like to be on the road or even cross training. I'm a very active road runner, logging around 10-15 miles/week. I have run in this shoe for quite a while and I love it! Plus, the pink color is so fun! They came just in time for my Princess Half Marathon in Disney!!! Can't wait! The comfort is just right. The day I got them in, I ran 3.5 miles in them and nothing hurt, nothing rubbed, and nothing stopped me while I was out and about. I order mine a half size bigger so allow for some swelling during my longer runs, and even the fit with a half size allowance is great! I have 2 older pairs of shoes from this same line that are still comfortable to wear and I've logged well over 600+ miles on them.

Awesome shoes
I bought these shoes because I have been attempting to train for a 5k for about 4 months and I can't get past the pain in my shins, knees and ankles. I've tried a couple different brands of shoes, to no avail. I finally sat down and did a lot of research on the pain I was having and what shoes would be best for me. I came across these in the process. I must say, I'm totally amazed at the difference when I run. It truly does feel as though I'm running on a cloud. I still get some pain, after running more than 2 miles, but that is such an improvement over the half mile I was previously able to run. All in all, I would recommend these shoes to anyone that has "shin splints" or knee pain when running. They make a huge difference! Also, on another note, I ordered a half size up when I initially ordered these shoes, based on others reviews of this product being sized small. They were NOT sized incorrectly. The first pair I bought was too large. I had to return them for the correct size. The return process was fantastic. I received my new shoes within two days of placing my return request.

Asics Gel Nimbus are the best shoe for me!
I have determined that Asics Gel Nimbus are the only shoes for my feet. I've had 2 pairs of GN-11s, one pair of GN-13 and now this pair of GN-14. I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and run 3 times per week. The cushioning in this shoe along with the support (I'm a neutral foot bed) works well for me. I get about 250+ miles on them before I get a new pair. I've tried several Brooks and a Saucony and New Balance, but only the Asics works for me. I love the wile colors in this shoe and often get comments about them. I bought these when the GN-15 came out so the price was a bit better than the new ones - I normally wear a 7.5 shoe but almost always get an 8 in running shoes and this size 8 fits with that scenario.

Um, I love running again.
These shoes are incredibly comfortable. I over-supinate (walk on the outsides of my feet) when I walk and run and have had knee pain for some time. These shoes seem to correct that because I can walk around all day in these shoes (which, by the way, have memory foam in the soles!) and have no knee pain at all. They have excellent shock absorption and they're so comfortable I feel like I'm wearing Uggs (but these look better, I think, at least while wearing leggings as pants). I used to run in barefoot style sneakers but after I tore a ligament in my foot I decided to buy these. Running in them feels great and I feel like I get all the support I need. Wearing them makes me want to hop up and down a lot. Great buy!
