Does what it is supposed to do for a decent ...
Does what it is supposed to do for a decent price. Low marks to the seller, though, for not clearing the Charter Communications password. Apparently, the Charter password has been burned into the unit in such a way that survives a factory reset. Said another say, none of the default Cisco passwords for this model worked for me and I had a lot of searching to do before I could obtain the admin login to configure the unit. When one thinks "refurbished", it is assumed to be set back to factory specs. The seller could have said "reconditioned / former Charter box"-- this is a much more accurate description.

I purchased this instead of buying the one from Cox Cable AZ
I looked at the Cox website and decided, instead of purchasing the Netgear cable modem they provided for $130.00 I would buy this Cisco cable modem. I have only used it for a few days now and it seems to be working fine. Cox said they were having trouble getting it up and running but in the end got it to work. I will try to revisit this post in a few months with an update. I hope this helps.

Pretty decent range
Bought a year ago to forego mediacom fees, works just as well as the one provided by them. Pretty decent range. I like that I didn't have to re-set anything up after I moved and re-installed it. Resets itself upon signal loss.

Cable modem A+. Built in router not great C+.
Item as described. Not as happy as I thought I would be about the distance of the built in router. Only get half the distance and signal strength of my previous routers. I rate it 7 out of 10.

It was not dual band
I bought this since I thought it is a dual band cable modem. The manual says that some lots are single channel model and can not choose 5GHz even it has the same model number. I was disappointed.

wont work
I was getting it for my comcast because I was told this was the best. I got it and hooked it up but comcast said that they couldn't get a read on it and it wouldn't work so I had to send it back. SORRY

Having no problems
This Cisco device came quicker than i suspected and it was easy to set up. It was the same model is was renting from my cable company (Cox). This way i'm able to save on rental fees each month.

Device becomes offline when modem is connected
Without the initial setup I plugged it into the cable modem and connected my computer via Ethernet and every time the modem will be online for a minute and be offline. Cannot ping the default IP 192.168.0.1 even though my computer will get a DHCP lease from the device. The lights in the front stay on but the device is not online. Tried all 4 Ethernet ports, different PC and still the same. So to try I disconnected the modem and the device works fine for internal network for hours. But as soon as I connect the modem after 2 minutes the same scenario happens. I tried to do a hard reset by a paper clip which works twice out of ten time where all the lights turn off and turn back on. Troubleshooted with my ISP they see the device get a public IP for a minute and go offline. It seems the cable modem part of this device is gone bad. Other than that works for lan, wireless etc. I do have my own wireless router so I was only using this for a modem. This device is in approved list by my ISP.
