The BEST Speaker Wire Sold @ Amazon
I wired up my Logitech Z-906 speaker set with this wire last year and it sounds about 100% better with it than with the sloppy 18-gauge wire they shipped with...same for a pair of Yahama weatherproof 2-way driver speakers I just bought to tide me over until I can afford a new front room blitzo set for a quadrophonic HDTV system, with a centerpiece of large 17.5", 9", and 3-inch JBL speakers that just plain wore out after some 25 years in service at my place...and believe it or not the little Yamaha's sound substantial and full of bass and a nice cross-over system at work in them also with that great 14-gauge wire, too! There are so many strands of wire inside each + and - section that there's a darn good reason this type of wire system is so trouble free, distortion free, and durability-wise very strong, also. If you use a very high-Q banana-plug setup also, like my gold plated connector banana plugs for the Yamaha 12" speakers that I got right here at Amazon for about $3 a set, it really puts the cap on the action and you will get decent sound out of even the skimpiest of speaker setups. I've been using one brand or another of the 14-gauge wires since as far back as I can remember and there's just no excuse for skimping when it comes time to finish off a system with great wire and fittings. You've just got to buy the 14-gauge wire to have a chance at a perfect sounding system, end of story. Wavey Davey - 7-13-2013

Great For Home use!
There has been some debate over the efficiency of this wire. The idea that copper over aluminum makes an inferior speaker wire isn't relevant to most home users. Due to the "skin effect" most of the electrons (AC Audio Signal)flow over the outside surface of each wire strand, in this case the copper. Yes copper is a good conductor of AC audio signals and has been a traditional material for speaker wires. If you want a better conductor than copper buy silver wire, if it even exists. The problem is if you are an average home owner with the usual home AV configuration it just doesn't make sense to spend more money on expensive pure copper wire. Audiophiles like fly fishermen will spend crazy amounts of money on equipment and with the possible exception of shielded speaker cable and great hand tied fishing flies, it's just not worth the extra $$. What is important is that you use a heavy enough gauge wire. Heavy gauge speaker wire is more durable, better insulated and will carry a heavier load over longer distances with less signal loss (lower resistance). For most audio installations 16 gauge is fine. I like 14 gauge because I know it will endure the pitfalls of home use such as being nibbled on by the cat and such. The down side is it is not as flexible as 16 gauge speaker wire and that's OK with me. For those who want to know this wire is easily soldered using regular rosin core electrical solder. Do not use acid core solder or the wire will corrode over time. Instead of buying expensive wire pins to terminate your wire I perform a process known as "tinning". I simply strip 1/2" of insulation from the wire and use a good hot soldering iron and apply solder to each wire end. I then trim the ends to 3/8" length and they are ready to go. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely. Unless you spent $5000 on a dual mono block tube amp, then this wire should work just fine. KB0QAQ

It's Wire
Pros: - 14 gauge wire that is 14 gauge - good casing of the wires Cons: - it was a little difficult to open Comparable products can be found in stores for a comparable price. I ordered this because I was able to lump it in with another order, and it came straight to my house. The product does what it is supposed to and is what it claims to be.

Good quality, great price
I ran about 250 ft of this for my new 7.2 system with a 2nd zone on my deck (9 runs of wire - 10 to 25 feet in length). It worked great. The thicker gauge allowed the wire to move more like romex through the walls, so I used my fish tape to run it up. I used some polk in-walls for the surround, and it sounds great for the space (about 25 x 20 w/ vaulted ceiling). The price on Amazon was about half of the local hardware store.

Bet you've looked at the more expensive stuff too. This does the job just fine
The audio world is filled with a bunch of complete BS to manipulate customers into spending money. "more musical" is just about what they all say. Your wire is important but can only alter the sound of the transducer by changing the frequency response if the wire is restricting the load of the amplifier. How do you keep it from restricting the load you ask? Get the thickest gauge wire you can. it's that simple. If you get that right then there's nothing about your wire that will make it more musical. A speakers job is to reproduce, a wires job is to transfer analog data, an amplifiers job is to amplify (not without exception but rather also the ability to add distortion to the signal via tubes that can be more pleasing not at a fairly large cost)

Good wire - Length is short
Echoing the other reviewers here: 1.) The wire is not pure copper, it is copper coated. Makes no difference to me (I'm not that much of an audiophile). If you don't consider yourself an audiophile, this likely doesn't matter to you either. 2.) I bought the 100ft spool of 14 gauge wire. The spool was definitely less than 100 ft. More around 60ft. Disappointing, but you get what you pay for. Otherwise, works fine. Hooked it up in a 7.1 system with banana plugs. First-time user. Managed to strip the wire carefully with a pair of scissors instead of using specialized tools too. Didn't have much issues (besides having to go buy more wire).

Good product at very reasonable price
I wanted to set up my home theater and bought this cable. It is a very good 14 gauge cable at very reasonable price. One issue for me though. I bought 3 of them because 150 feet was ample amount of cable required for my setup. But while installing these cables I realized that it is a bad idea to join the few feet of cable remaining from each one of them and make a cable for forth speaker. So I ended up buying one more 50 feet cable. I wish they had the option of 150 feet or 200 feet to reduce wastage.

RCA 14 Gauge Speaker Wire
I bought this looking to upgrade my system from some ancient wire that was over 15 years old. To start, the wire was pretty easy to deal with. The only problem I had was actually dealing with my receiver, but I always have trouble with that part, no matter what wire I deal with. As for sound quality, this stuff works great for a mid-range speaker system (my previous wire was old, but my system was new, which is why I bought new wire). The average person should find this to be completely acceptable, and won't notice a difference between this and higher gauge/quality wires. My suggestion would be that 50 feet is a little short for anyone looking to set up an entire 5.1 system. My living room is on the smaller side, and I barely managed to have enough wire for it.

Perfect Cable for your home theatre
RCA brand speaker cable gauge 14 are the best, I did replace my old 12 gauge cable from a different brand with the 14 gauge RCA, The sound is awesome, + I would suggest to use it with banana plugs. Buy with confidence. Best Cable for the money on the market.
