I have read this shampoo stinks. Is this true & how bad is it?

I don't care for the smell or that it dries my hair out if used straight. But it also works better than any other product I've ever tried... & I've tried quite a few different products. So after some trial & error, I've come up with something that works great for me. Solves both the drying out problem, as well as the unpleasant scent. I mix 50/50 Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights purple shampoo & OGX coconut milk shampoo. I then just use OGX coconut milk conditioner. Works fantastic for my naturally white/silver hair.

I have omber blonde at the bottom of my hair and my roots are my natural hair color.. but will it do anything to my dark natural hair color on top?

Nope! I started using this when I had ombre hair as well, and it didn't have any effect on my natural color. My natural color is a dark blonde/light brown, for reference.

is this one shampoo and one conditioner?

Do the shampoo and conditioner look exactly the same? I’ve used other purple shampoo and conditioner sets and the conditioner is normally lighter.

Yes. The conditioner is lighter. I put them on smaller convenient bottles and there is a noticeable difference.
