Perfect for Heavy Riffs and Solos!
The Dunlop Gator Grip Pick 1.5mm is a fantastic choice for any guitarist who loves to play heavy riffs and intricate solos. The thickness of the 1.5mm pick gives you incredible control and precision, allowing you to dig deep into those heavy power chords and shred with ease. Whether you're playing fast-paced metal or hard rock, these picks have the perfect balance of durability and grip to make every note crisp and clear. I personally use these picks for solos, and the added thickness provides great articulation, especially when you’re playing fast licks or heavy bends. The textured grip is also fantastic, providing stability even when your hands are sweaty from playing hard. However, if you’re primarily an acoustic guitar player who enjoys strumming open chords or fingerpicking, these might not be the best fit. They're a little on the stiff side for smooth strumming, so you might want to opt for something lighter or more flexible for those purposes. Overall, for anyone looking to up their game with heavy riffs, solos, and fast-paced rock or metal, these are a must-have! Highly recommend them for electric guitar players.

These are my pick of choice. Grippy in my fingers, and pretty durable

Highly recommended!
As a dedicated guitarist, I'm always on the lookout for high-quality guitar picks that offer superior grip and control. These picks have become an indispensable part of my playing arsenal, offering unparalleled performance and reliability. One of the standout features of these picks is their exceptional grip. The textured surface provides an excellent hold, ensuring that the pick stays firmly in place, even during intense playing sessions. This level of control has greatly enhanced my precision and accuracy, allowing me to execute complex techniques with ease. I no longer have to worry about my pick slipping or rotating awkwardly while I'm in the middle of a performance. The .96mm gauge strikes a perfect balance between flexibility and rigidity. It offers just the right amount of give, enabling a comfortable playing experience while maintaining excellent responsiveness. Whether I'm strumming chords or shredding intricate solos, these picks deliver a consistent and articulate tone that enhances the overall sound of my guitar. Lastly, the JIM DUNLOP 417R.96 Grip picks are versatile, suitable for various playing styles and genres. Whether I'm playing metal, rock, blues, jazz, or even acoustic ballads, these picks adapt effortlessly to my needs, delivering consistent performance and tone across different musical contexts. In summary, the JIM DUNLOP with a .96mm gauge are a must-have accessory for any guitarist seeking superior grip, control, and durability. My Current Favorite Picks
I used to use the super heavy version of these for years, and I always loved them. Since then, I've been bouncing around between a few others, going from Jazz III, to Big Stubby, back to the classic Fender Heavy, and back to what I used to use but a bit lighter with these. The .96mm ones are the perfect compromise - they're thick with a bit of flex and the coating makes them easy to hang onto. They do seem to grind down with time, and they start to lose their edge a bit faster than other picks I've used, but it's a pretty minor complaint. Overall, these are great picks at a fairly reasonable price.

Good pick…. Softer than tortex. Grip is “meh”
Pick are always personal opinions . Kudos to Dunlop for making so many variations , but there is one obvious “gap” in their lineup : no standard shape (351) tortex pick in 1.5mm. So this is the closest option. But the Gator Grip material seems slightly softer and with a “fuzzier” surface texture than standard tortex. I would prefer standard tortex or tortex-flex, but this is still a very good, useable pick.

Nice pick
Picks have always and will be a preference thing, HOWEVER, I suggest this to anyone with sweaty hands or people with hyperhidrosis like me cause the material alone, fresh or used, stops it from turning or sliding out of your hand! Textured picks tend to get all that junk in the ridges and whatnot.

Nice Heavy Pick
If you like a very firm non flexible pick, then this the pick you want. Not as thick as finger hold picks (indentations for thumb and first finger) but the texture makes it stay put in your fingers. I've used these for years but they are getting harder to find and thankful I found them here. Not cheap but you'll love them if you try them.

If you're heavy handed you should consider these
Gator grip Dunlop feel great and stay in the hand really well, they feel rock solid when doing lead work without being too thick for detailed rhythm playing like jazz picks that everyone likes to use feel to me, I switch between rhythm and lead playing and have been playing for 5 years at the time of this post, these are my ol' reliables
