I work from home and my office has hardwood floors. My office chair was starting to scratch the floors and I needed something to prevent more damage. I saw this for a great price, excellent delivery time and the perfect size. It worked amazing!!! It came in a long rectangular box that was very easy to pick up, once I opened it, the mat was rolled up inside. I rolled it out on the floor upside down to make it stretch and then I put it under my desk. It fit perfectly where I needed it. It is very easy to clean. I sweep it and I clean it as I would the floor. The material it is made up makes clean up very easy. It is smooth on both sides so there is no damage from my chair anymore. Thank you for saving my hardwood floors!

to thin will not stay in place

This will likely work fine for most. It is not super heavy duty. But as some have ask, I use it on a low-pile commerical grade carpet in my house and it works fine, it does not slip. Does not seem to indent. The backing has enough texture that it stays put. My only issue is that is a bit smaller than it should be for my needs, but can't blame the mat for that. It did stay flat and did not curl up, but if the wheel goes off the mat, it could curl it up yanking the chair back on. Good enough for now. Chair rolls OK, but would be better on a slightly heavier mat.

Overall, this chair mat is fantastic. I was searching and searching, trying to find a chair mat to use on my hardwood (laminate) floors. If I was making the purchase again, I'd pick this mat again.Pros:-It was packaged carefully and shipped rolled up, but within hours was laying flat. To help things along, I put two of my desk chair legs on part of the mat and books on other corners. (I'll try to take a picture of this later in case others want to use it the way I have)-Absolutely NO smell! Many other mats (by other sellers on Amazon) had complaints of smells. This mat doesn't have ANY smell.-So far, it seems very sturdy. No signs of wear and tear from my desk chair wheels.-I'm pretty clumsy, and the mat edges do NOT hurt my feet at all if I bump it.-I haven't spilled anything on it (yet) but it seems very easy to wipe clean.Cons:-It would be nice if it came in more colors. Can that even be considered a con?-The mat does slide a little on the floor if I step on it while walking at just the right angle. Not a big issue -- I just scoot it back into place.I think that should answer most questions...I'd definitely recommend this mat to others.

I needed a cheap floor mat in my office to protect my wood floors. I didn't want one that was too big, I didn't want one that was too thick, and I definitely didn't want one that I'd feel bad throwing out. This has fit the bill.Be advised of a couple things before you buy:-Because it's light weight, you'll want to anchor it down with your office furniture. Otherwise it will slip and shift over time. I used the two front legs of my desk.-It WILL stain, scuff, and scratch. I've had mine for a month and there are black marks, scratches, etc. all over it. It's not pretty. But it has kept my floor safe from the same fate.

I wanted a black mat to match my office decor… perfect, but on a carpeted floor it slides. Constantly! It could use those little sticky things on the part that touches the floor. Disappointed.

I have been using this mat for 1 week at the time of this review. I really like how thin this mat is. It still grips the floor well and provides the right amount of resditance to the castor wheels of my office chair while still letting them roll easily when I want them to. I wish it were about 3" wider and a foot longer but that's my fault for not accounting for my office desk correctly. The front and back edge are still not laying entirely flat because of how tight it was rolled but you dont notice that while using the mat. Black color shows dirt easily so it's easy to clean. Will update of durability becomes an issue but it seems fine so far.Pros: thin, good texture/friction,Cons: front and back still don't lay totally flat but doesn't effect performance

I've had this mat for about two weeks now and I like the quality very much as it seems to be quite sturdy. However, I have been having a lot of trouble with the two outer edges rolling up. I've tried keep heavy items on them but even with the sticky pads that came with the mat on each end, I still am having a problem with a slight rolling. This, of course, is a safety problem. The other two edges are not a problem as they are kept down by my computer desk. At the present time, I have a door stop on the one corner that is the most problem and I'm hoping that once I take it up, that the corner will remain down. Also, it should be noted that the instructions state that it will take about a day for this mat to unroll; however, I had to keep it open with books for almost two days before it calmed down enough to use it.

This May is terrible. It’s slides all over and is never under my chair as it just slides around under my desk!
