Q: How does this attach to the countertop after you drop it in? The sink I have now has some attachments fix to the sink & you clamp to the counter top.

This is a drop in sink (note the words in parentheses in its name). Its lip must be larger than the cutout hole in your bathroom countertop. You seal it in place by placing a bead of caulk on the countertop around the hole. Once the caulk cures, it stays solidly in place

Q: Is there a paper template for cutting a whole to fit?

No - Not when I ordered it. It's pretty easy to calculate.

Q: If i have to return it, would I have to pay for shipping?

I think it depends on the reason for the return. In my case I requested round and received the oval. I was replacing a round sink.

Q: what is the actual interior sink size

Roughly 16" wide, 10" length (front to back) , and about 6" deep
