Amazing hydrodynamics, bad mouthpiece
I'm a high-mileage swimmer and I love using snorkels. I started out with the Finis, which was okay but had a tendency to warp, and leaked too much. Then I used the Tyr for a couple years, which was excellent, until the strap broke. Now I have the MP Focus, which is great in some ways and not-so-great in others.Starting with the good news: this snorkel feels amazing in the water, like it's a part of my face. The other snorkels had a distinct wobble, especially at faster paces, and I could feel the turbulence and drag coming off of them. The MP Focus, with its swept-back design and wedge cross-section, just slices through the water and feels amazingly natural. Their claim about the "unique, low-profile, hydrodynamic tube" isn't hype, in fact they're understating it. Also the claim that it resists rotation is 100% true.Other reviewers have said it restricts breathing slightly, but I didn't detect that it all.The forehead rest and strap are very well designed as well, with pushbutton locks for the strap, and a really clever tension system to keep the forehead rest in place while also allowing it to be adjusted. The Tyr and Finis both had adjustable forehead rests that moved around too much, and the straps one both were sub-par.And now the problem: the MP's mouthpiece. The best way to describe it is "invasive." It extends well into your mouth, with a segment that rests on the roof of your mouth, and these C-shaped brackets extending from the bite wings that seem designed to clasp your tongue. I found this weird and uncomfortable, and unless I was concentrating on keeping my tongue perfectly still (which is harder than it sounds), I was getting irritation in my mouth from this thing. The mouthpiece rubber seemed somewhat harder than the Tyr; maybe it's urethane instead of silicone. The in-mouth parts also had sharply defined edges, which (even though they're rubber) made the irritation that much worse. (Keep in mind that everyone is shaped differently, maybe I have a too-small mouth.) Add to that a very plasticky smell and taste awhile breathing through it that the Tyr didn't have, though I assume that would go away in a few days.Another problem: like the Finis, it was hard to blow water out of the snorkel. One full breath didn't seem to do the job. All swimming snorkels leak, no exceptions; what sets them apart is how east it is to clear the water. With the Tyr it was very easy. With this one, not so much. On a positive note, this one didn't leak any more than any other snorkel I've used, maybe less in fact, and because the mouthpiece assembly has a large volume, when water did get in, it sort of stayed out of the way, unlike other snorkels. So having to clear the water was less of an issue.Ultimately, what I've done is put the forehead piece and strap from the MP Focus on my old Tyr snorkel (it fits great), resulting in a new and improved Tyr. For that reason I'm glad I bought it, even if I'm not using the main part of the snorkel. Maybe someday Aquasphere will fix the mouthpiece on this thing, and then they'll have the ultimate swim snorkel.

You look ridiculous but the snorkel is GREAT!
Yes, you might look like a dolphin who swallowed a dildo and you will NOT pick up any girls at the pool with this one - BUT!! Its a great snorkel! It fits great and takes in almost no water. And even if you get a little water in its so easy to blow it out because of the front vent. So if you like to swim for hours and dont care how you look, this one is for you!!!

Amazingly comfortable for people with a smaller head
I have the small sized MP snorkel and absolutely love it. I had the Finis Glide snorkel before and was miserable with it. Why this is so much better is because the rigid front part of the head piece is small from side-to-side so it fits those of us with smaller heads. Since it molds to smaller heads, the pressure is equally distributed along your entire forehead to make it comfortable. Also the mouthpiece is far better than the Finis snorkel. It stays in your mouth without any effort whatsoever. You can have you lips and jaws totally relaxed and it doesn’t leak at all. The last thing I’ll mention is that I’m not a fast swimmer and don’t do rolling turns, yet even I can tell a difference between the stability of this snorkel and the finis - this one stays put for my entire swim without any adjusting. I only have a small suggestion for the makers of MP if they read this. The way you know which way to slide the snorkel into the headband is to have the very tiny logo right side up. Well, for those of us that don’t have their glasses or contacts on in the pool, it would be super helpful to make the indicator something everyone can easily see without having to mark the headpiece on their own with a sharpie.

A Surprisingly Awesome Purchase (For a Highly Competitive Swimmer)
I am a highly competitive swimmer/triathlete, averaging 3 swims for 10,000 yards a week, and swim very specific and functional workouts. I demand a lot from my equipment because my training demands a lot from me. That being said, I needed a tool to help train head position, improve breathing and streamlining, and this has been FANTASTIC.This is a very stylish and sleek snorkel, and is very, very comfortable. The triangular tube shape does, in fact, seem to make it a bit easier to swim with. I find it easier to discharge the water (after doing a flipturn) than the Finis equivalent, and it is definitely more comfortable. My airflow does feel much more restricted than with the Finis, although I find that more as a training opportunity instead of a design flaw. The black with lime green head band is a nice eye-catching feature, although lacks any real benefit, and the components feel sturdy and well put together. It also comes in at a good price point.I do have the occasional time where I get half a snorkel full of water, but in general, it is easily solved with two huge exhales through the snorkel. Highly recommend this, along with the Speedo Deluxe Ventilator Mesh Equipment Bag, Formula One for keeping all of your gear organized!

Excellent swim snorkel!
I am a 64 year old woman who has been swimming a mile at least 3-4 days a week for fitness and recreation for over 60 years. In my twenties I had multiple back and neck injuries. My doctor suggested using a snorkel to avoid all the twisting of the neck and spine which I have have been doing for the past 5 years. The mask I has broken 3 times in the last year, so I decided to try the swim snorkel instead of buying another mask. This is a well made product and worked well for me the first time. I read about the possible use of a nose clip so I ordered one but I did not find it necessary as long as you remind yourself that your nose will only fill up as much water as your nose will hold and no more, it is something I got used of the first few laps. Using a snorkel allows me to swim a mile without stopping and makes it seem so effortless, relaxing and enjoyable!

Transformed my swimming
I saw this reviewed on you tube and if not for that I would not have bought something named after a swimmer. I love this snorkel, it has a nice mouth feel is comfortable on and works perfectly. I am swimming in an Endless pool and this makes my crawl swimming so much better, I now swim constantly for twenty minutes on a strong current. I did find I got a bit of sinus pain before I bought nose clips to go with it and ear plugs and goggles so it might not be the best look but who cares it works!

Nice soft mouth piece
This is the second one we've bought. Nice soft mouth piece, which is great for kids with growing teeth and braces.

Very sturdy but wouldn't recommend for juniors
Very hard to work out what size these things are but I wouldn't buy this particular item again for a junior. The mouthpiece seems really designed for adults

Nice design, works perfectly
I use this as I have a long-time neck injury. This allows me to swim crawl, without having to twist my neck. Works perfectly, but I do need to use a nose clip with it
