A brilliant Book to help with ED medicine and preparation for the FRCEM Exams
I am a current ACCS EM trainee in the UK. As on the front cover this book covers key concepts in Emergency Medicine. Its a well written and structured book/manual that delves into detail on the exam structure for the SAQ Exam content which is useful as most of this information is not found in other accompanying guidebooks. It has questions available and how to do structured answering and what to look out for. This goes into detail where you would be able to achieve marks and what errors will lead to penalisation. It is easy to read, concise and for any physician at any level from F2 and above, this book will help prepare for the cases you will expect to see, what differentials to take into consideration as well as also structuring it to the Royal college of emergency Medicine (RCEM) website. This important for all level trainees and those working abroad, as it goes through all the presenting cases that a ED doctor is expected to see coinciding with the RCEM guidebook and gives explanations on all cases ranging from Trauma to major presentations as well as those seen in Minors such as fractures. A must have for any doctor wanting to expand their knowledge in Emergency Medicine, especially useful for trainees from ST1 level (not just ST3), and great reading for foundation doctors who are considering a specialising in A&E.

Concise , well written exam focused book.
One of the best SAQ books for the FRCEM Final SAQ exam, I have come across. Concise , well written and a very useful resource to prepare for this tough exam. Mock exams at the end are really very helpful to give the practice needed to time yourself. Sajjad and his team have really work hard to put all the topics needed to cover the breadth of the RCEM curriculum . Personally I used it as a quick revision guide in the last few weeks before the exam and passed !

Really good book but sort out the abbreviations please.
This is a good book and very relevant for anyone working in field of EM regardless of whether an exam is being sat or not. However, the one annoying thing is the use of abbreviations throughout the book. I think the author suggests not using abbreviations in the exam and then continues to use them throughout the book. I have worked in EM for 5 years now and some of the abbreviations had me doing a quick google search!

Must read before FRCEM intermediate and final SAQ
Very high yield, exam oriented, must read before the FRCEM intermediate and Final SAQ. The exam techniques are very well explained with the examples. Mock papers were really helpful. Book is very well designed as per the curriculum and all topics are covered accordingly. I’ve cleared my FRCEM final SAQ exam in the first attempt with the help of this book.
