Dior: Couture

I just finished watching a watching a documentary about Dior, and had to have a book. He was a lovely man who inspired lovely fashion.

I'd like to consider this book as the "Goodbye Galliano" for Dior book since a large amount of the content in this book was from Galliano's Couture collections for Dior. Amazing black and white, and color photography. Each image is impeccably rich in composition, color, personality and that clashing between frivolous looks, the narratives and bold design complement each other.It's a large, stately book that even when closed- the size and cover is something to behold. My only critique is that I wish there was more images by Patrick DeMarchelier (he's done far more for Dior couture than what this book can fill in). I wish there could be a Dior Couture Part 2 book!If you were captivated by Dior Couture from all eras, but more specifically between the late 1990s and 2000s- this is the Couture book to own. Especially for the price here on Amazon, I've seen other retailers price this book $120 - $150.

I bought this for my fiancée as a coffee table book, which she has a huge love for them, and went crazy (in the best of ways) over this gift. For starters, she absolutely loves fashion and has always loved fashion pictures and all that business most guys cannot understand. Whatever the case, it scored big points for me for finding something she looked and will look at all the time and not going to typical route and buying her perfume or a piece of jewelry for her birthday with roses and chocolate. All of her friends look it too because it's actually a very big book, bigger than expected, and guys know how girls love their big fashion items.Soooooo, go the unique way guys and buy this book for your girl! You might not get much out of it, but she'll love you that much more for it!

I almost cried as I turned the pages of this book! the pictures are wonderful,there is really not to much content to go along with the designs so if you are looking for that then you won't find it here, But if you are looking for stunning photographs of mostly John Gallinio's work then you will not be disappointed. It is a must have for the your fashion library it really is ,!t is nice to have some content along with the pictures,but the pictures are so beautiful that they just simply make the book a wonderful coffee table art book. At the end of the day This book is a Beautiful ,stunning collection of absolutely gorgeous photos !
