Any security camera is as good as its software, and this camera uses "YI LOT" app. App looks state of the art but there's where good news ends. I have used this app for 4 days and its been hit or miss. I have installed it near our front door and it mostly sends Notification for mostly all small motion detected. But sometime it misses a whole person walking or even a car. I have been fiddling with the two setting it has on the app "Motion Detect" and "Notification", both have 3 option low, medium and high. I did try all permutations to see which is the most reliable and effective. But as the time went due to getting too many notification for even a plant moving outside in wind or if its raining or even fog. I had to decrease the setting to low. hence lowering any hopes to this camera and using the app as active intruder detection. Sometimes I got notification after hr and half later of me passing in front of camera. And sometimes its just did not detect me while adjusting the whole camera. So I have given up to it use as a active security system as I have taken quite a effort drilling it to the wall, will be using it just as a passive deterrent camera system which records all day. I think its hard for motion detection to work without a good supporting software which Ring and Nest camera provide. If the purpose of your security is just to capture and not be bothered by notices this can be for yours. Also I found the camera doesnt have a wide angle to it. But for the price its not much one can ask for. I'll attached some picture or video below.

Camera worked well for a year or so, but 20 months later it does not work. How I fixed it was to unplug then plug it back into the mains, removed the SD card whilst it was connected, and reset it from there. Working fine now

Set up very easy. But my Daughter has lost the set up papers and I would be grateful if anyone could let me have a copy please.

I have 4 of these and they are so easy to set up compared to other makes and you only have one cable to worry about rather than a bunch. Being USB powered it is easy to extend the cable using a USB extender from Ebay at £1. They are only wifi but have proved very stable. The pictures are excellent and the software, Yi IOT is simple to understand. MicroSD cards are so cheap now I have 64Gb in each but saving to Veroyi's Cloud is also an option at a small cost per month.Fitting the camera is also easy, the base comes off and you can drill and screw it to a wall then attach the camera in seconds.Motion detection? Over sensitive like all cameras I have known but the settings do actually help. It is an amazingly difficult thing to try to do, decide what is a car 100 feet away, human 30 feet away or a fox 6 feet away. But it does acceptably but nothing like perfectly.Altogether it is brilliant camera at £31.

I brother his is a electrician, I help me put on front of my door, it is easy to download the app working normal, can see clearly in day and night, important one is this is waterproof, I don't need to worry about raining, keep my house safe everytime.

Great value for the money. A great piece of kit that effectively does what is expected of it. Responsive, good quality pictures , clear instructions and easy to set up.

Received this yesterday (6pm) and I had it setup by 6:30! So easy to setup, the camera basically tells/speaks to you on how to setupI was abit I sure when buying this that the quality would be rubbish but on using his and swing it firsthand, I’m amazed at how good the quality is for the price!I’ll definitely be buying more of these!100% recommend this to anyone looking for a camera!
